Also says after renting the movie she moved out of state. If that happened a week after renting it she wouldn't have gotten any letters. Not unless she updated her information with the store.

They do if you apply for mail forwarding. If you don't it won't be forwarded. It doesn't cost you anything, but if you take the time to update your accounts to the correct address just before moving you may just leave it be. I'm receiving mail for people taht have not lived in my apartment for 4+ years still.

Yeah I have been in my house almost 7 years and I still get mail for the people who lived there before. Mail forwarding is also not fail safe. It works for some stuff but it doesn't always work. The last time I moved I set up mail forwarding and I got some stuff but not everything.

I get my dad's mail at my apartment and he gets mine at the house. Both forwarded from our previous address (where I grew up) to new addresses.

For low priority warrants like that, they're not going to actively hunt you down. The police have better shit to do. But if you get pulled over or stopped and they run your info through and it comes up, yeah, they'll nail you. We used to run into people like that all the time when I worked security. You'd stop them for a simple trespass, get their info, and then find out they had a warrant.

This whole thing sounds completely unjust. You get a criminal charge for forgetting to return a movie, but you can run a stop sign, hit someone and cause thousands of dollars worth of damage, not to mention possible injury, and walk away with higher insurance rates and a $300 fine......what the fucking fuck....

That is what I thought too. I never realized they could make a criminal offense out of it. I would think that it would be between the business and the customer to deal with fines etc. If I don't pay a bill for a business they won't have me arrested they might send it to collections but that would be it.
