In elementary school and HS our Phys ed/Health classes had diagrams of a penis inside school issued books, my doctors office has diagrams of a penis and vagina, don't see them being felony charged, don't see how one can make a case for a felony charge here either....

As someone who teaches high school freshmen, it's pretty fucking obvious that y'all are vastly overestimating the level of emotional maturity we're dealing with here. Do adults give a fuck about seeing a penis? Nah, man. Would your average college freshman (aka high school senior + 3 months) give a fuck? Nah, bro. But 14 year olds? May as well be toddlers, man. The depth is just not there.

Absolutely correct. The entire concept of "indecent exposure" is rooted in puritanical Christianity. It's the worst sort of archaic, religiously-motivated law that people simply accepted over time. There is nothing inherently dangerous or obscene about the human form.

They don't show live penises (let alone ones belonging to people they may know) in textbooks. They use illustrations here (and considering our state pretty much decides what's in everyone else's textbooks due to our size, I'd imagine they use illustrations there too). This also isn't health class, where students probably signed a waiver and got parental consent and mentally prepared because sex ed is important. It's their yearbook. It sits on their shelf in their bedroom. Where they sleep.

Not a big deal to you. I get it. Not a big deal to me either. But I'm an adult. I have a functioning brain. 14 year olds don't. They're kids who cry at my desk because another kid kissed them on the cheek without permission. And this is in urban Texas, the land of corporal punishment and bootstraps with nary a helicopter parent in sight.
