Aliens, duh!
I thought it looked more like one of the druid shades from the shannara series. (does this lake have eerie green-black water and is surrounded by obsidian shards by chance?)
Personally I'm really hoping it's a several hundred foot tall Jesus in the distance. That would be rad as fuck.
We're gonna need a bigger cross.

After hanging up mid-sentence on a caller, a Houston 911 call center operator was heard on a recording saying, "Ain't nobody got time for this. For real," according to charging documents.
That call center operator identified as Crenshanda Williams was arrested and charged after allegedly hanging up on what could be thousands of emergency callers, according to the documents.

MY SPELLCHECK DIDNT UNDERLINE THAT WHAT IS HAPPENING
So this article is from 2001 , but I just happen to stumble upon it when doing research on the history of genetics. I will now forever be wary of corn. Then again, I can eat an ear of corn before going out to prevent an accident from growing.

Scientists have created the ultimate GM crop: contraceptive corn. Waiving fields of maize may one day save the world from overpopulation.
The pregnancy prevention plants are the handiwork of the San Diego biotechnology company Epicyte, where researchers have discovered a rare class of human antibodies that attack sperm.
By isolating the genes that regulate the manufacture of these antibodies, and by putting them in corn plants, the company has created tiny horticultural factories that make contraceptives.
'We have a hothouse filled with corn plants that make anti-sperm antibodies,' said Epicyte president Mitch Hein.
Corn just might be the end of us, whether it be the diabetes or mass sterilization.
So your saying they created a way to sterilize with corn, but the best form of male contraceptive is still a condom/vasectomy?
Of course we all know stories of women who have put off having babies because their partner doesn't want them. (Too often they end up alone when their partner leaves and shacks up with some women who immediately gets pregnant.) But it is, I would suggest, quite rare for a woman who has a fertile partner and wants to have a baby, not to find someway of convincing him that it would be a good idea. Sometimes it is not so much convincing him as presenting him with a fait accompli - just letting nature take its course.
This pretty much makes the argument for men to have birth control. Especially that last sentence, that thought process scares me.
Men have a right to their body and the decisions that affect their body. The only worrisome thing is the "no worries babe, I'm sterile" then proceed to have sex without protection. STDs would spread like wildfire.
Regardless of how reliable (?) male birth control may be, men should still be wearing condoms. The contraception would just be a backup plan in case that condom broke or the crazy girlfriend decided to poke holes in order to keep you forever or prevent a breakup. * cough*
Yes, children are totally putting that college education to good use.

Hopefully this will be handled well. Or else more fuel for BLM to want segregation in schools because irony.A black 15-year-old in Mississippi shook in fear as he described how white schoolmates put a noose around his neck and pulled it tight, leaving no physical scars but perhaps a life-changing emotional wound, his mother said.
Stacey Payton, a 47-year-old college instructor, said her son met her in her office and told her about the Oct. 13 incident a few hours after it happened in a high school locker room.
