Sounds like a lot of it can (and for that matter already is) being done over really minor issues (they specified if there is any perceived injury) not fully on beatings that were probably already felonies. Even lower class felonies like this one still hold quite a bit of weight. Aside from the direct punishment it can hold others like some states I don't think you can ever vote again. Might not be able to own a gun. Look forward to failing every background check for anything forever.

Only 1 out of every 100 Americans are in jail right now. That number is stupid low. Gotta get something more respectable like 1 in 50. How else can you protect your freedom if you don't jail more people and take away their rights to vote and shit?

I don't think it'll last much scrutiny. It certainly doesn't mesh with "Stand your ground" well, but idk if that state has that law on the books. I never thought I'd say this, but when considering the alternative atm, maybe they should rush and get some stand your ground in their schools.

Two grieving Alberta families have each been slapped with $100 carbon tax bill after having a relative cremated, just days after the tax was introduced in that province.

The $100 fee was handwritten on Ed Connon's bill when he paid to cremate his 93-year-old mother, Margaret Connon, who died Jan. 7. The funeral home staff had no explanation for him.

TL;DR: Essentially the funeral home didn't calculate the tax properly. What should have been a charge of about $10 ended up being $100 because they fucked up the decimal point lol. Even the Alberta gov is still saying $10 is too high and that they're still overcharging what should really be a charge of anywhere from less then $1 to a max of $4.
