Woman starves to death in spiritual quest to live on sunlight alone

A woman starved to death after embarking on a spiritual journey which involved giving up food and water and attempting to exist on nothing but sunlight.

The Swiss woman, who was in her fifties, apparently got the idea after watching the documentary film 'In the Beginning, There Was Light' which features an Indian guru who claims to not have eaten anything in 70 years.

The Zurich newspaper Tages-Anzeiger reported Wednesday that the unnamed woman decided to follow the radical fast in 2010

A GERMAN nymphomaniac arrested after forcing a man to have sex with her eight times has struck again - this time keeping her victim on the go for a staggering 36 HOURS.
The woman met her latest victim, a 31-year-old African man, on her way home from a sex addiction clinic in Munich.

She invited him back to her flat where she kept him hostage and forced him to satisfy her sexual demands.

The victim eventually managed to break out of the apartment after his attacker fell asleep. He was later found weeping on the street by police.

He fought back tears to tell them: “I met her on a bus. She invited me back here. It was hell. I can’t walk. Please help me.”

Munich police confirmed his ordeal in a press statement. The woman has now been taken into a hospital for psychiatric observation.

The man escaped from her apartment like the first victim last month - when she fell asleep.

Dieter Schulz, 43, had to guide police to her flat using his mobile telephone on her balcony between sex sessions.

A naked and frightened Schulz told cops: “You have got to help me. She is trying to kill me with sex. I cannot get out - and I cannot go on!”

When police arrived to question the woman she invited two officers to join her in bed for a “quickie”.

Dentist pulls out all of her ex-boyfriend’s teeth after split
By Eric Pfeiffer | The Sideshow - 20 hrs ago

If you're planning a trip to the dentist, it might not be the wisest decision to make your appointment with the person with whom you just broke up.

A Polish woman is facing three years in prison after she removed all of her ex-boyfriend's teeth during dental surgery just days after their breakup.

"I tried to be professional and detach myself from my emotions," Anna Mackowiak, 34, told the Austrian Times. "But when I saw him lying there I just thought, 'What a bastard' and decided to take all his teeth out."

Marek Olszewski, 45, reportedly showed up at Mackowiak's dental office complaining of toothache just days after he broke up with her. She then allegedly gave him a "heavy dose" of anesthetic, locked the door and began removing all of his teeth one at a time.

"I knew something was wrong because when I woke up I couldn't feel any teeth and my jaw was strapped up with bandages," Olszewski said.

"She told me my mouth was numb and I wouldn't be able to feel anything for a while and that the bandage was there to protect the gums, but that I would need to see a specialist," he said.

"I didn't have any reason to doubt her, I mean I thought she was a professional."

Adding to his trauma, Olszewski said his new girlfriend has already left him over his now toothless appearance.

"And I'm going to have to pay a fortune on getting indents or something," he said.

Mackowiak is currently being investigated for medical malpractice.

The cities of Windsor, Ontario, and Rogue River, Mich., are separated geographically by only a river, but when it comes to one highly annoying noise they are worlds apart.

That noise, described as a low-pitched rumble, has rankled citizens of Windsor since last year, prompting hundreds of complaint calls, leading one resident to create a Facebook page and spurring a senior aide to Canada's foreign minister to visit the city to investigate.

Testing conducted by the Canadian government determined the sound, known by locals as the "Windsor hum," came from the area of Zug Island, a 600-acre, steel industrial site on the U.S. side of the Detroit River, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.

The only problem? The residents of the Detroit suburb have no idea what their Canadian friends are talking about, or hearing.

The mayor of River Rogue, under whose jurisdiction Zug Island lies, told Canadian questioners last year that his city's budget does not allow for testing to track down the noise, according to the CBC. Further, the city's residents say they can't even hear the noise that Windsor residents say shakes their windows, rattles their shelves and may even be making them sick.

"The only place I am hearing noise from is Canada-from politicians complaining," the mayor, Michael Bowdler, told the Wall Street Journal, which first reported on the American response.

Michigan's Department of Environmental Quality did look into the issue last year - examining whether noise could be caused by new machinery used at Zug - but found nothing, according to the Journal.

And pleas made by the Canadians to both the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have fallen short, with each saying it is a state, not a federal issue.

Meanwhile, Canadian officials are plugging on to try to quiet the noise.

Bob Dechert, the parliamentary secretary to Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister, visited Windsor and Detroit late last month and met with both American and Canadian officials to address the issue, according to the CBC.

    Still, the mysterious hum continues.

"The government of Canada takes this issue seriously," Dechert said in a statement. "It is important that we find a solution that works for the people of Windsor."

Bill Nye Boo'd In Texas For Saying The Moon Reflects The Sun

Bill Nye, the harmless children's edu-tainer known as "The Science Guy," managed to offend a select group of adults in Waco, Texas at a presentation, when he suggested that the moon does not emit light, but instead reflects the light of the sun.

As even most elementary-school graduates know, the moon reflects the light of the sun but produces no light of its own.

But don't tell that to the good people of Waco, who were "visibly angered by what some perceived as irreverence," according to the Waco Tribune.

Nye was in town to participate in McLennan Community College's Distinguished Lecture Series. He gave two lectures on such unfunny and adult topics as global warming, Mars exploration, and energy consumption.

But nothing got people as riled as when he brought up Genesis 1:16, which reads: "God made two great lights -- the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars."

The lesser light, he pointed out, is not a light at all, but only a reflector.

At this point, several people in the audience stormed out in fury. One woman yelled "We believe in God!" and left with three children, thus ensuring that people across America would read about the incident and conclude that Waco is as nutty as they'd always suspected.

This story originally appeared in the Waco Tribune, but the newspaper has mysteriously pulled its story from the online version, presumably to avoid further embarrassment.

    http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-new...anga-and-anime
From the new tech from Japan department: Qumarion is a mannequin input device that allows users to pose and manipulate CG models on-screen and in real time. Developed by a host of Japanese universities, with the aid of an unnamed action figure company, the video below (naturally) uses anime-style characters for a demonstration.

As the video points out, artists could use Qumarion to create 2D drawings or could be used to create key frames of animation. We’ll leave it to you to decide if such computer assisted creativity would be considered “cheating” or not…

Qumarion is set to arrive later this year in a software-mannequin package that will retail for about $750.

John Travolta touched my genitals, claims masseur

The lawsuit claims Travolta booked the massage from an online advertisement and offered to pick the man up in his black Lexus SUV. The pair then drove to the Beverly Hills Hotel before continuing on to the actor's personal bungalow.

Travolta allegedly stripped naked in front of the masseur before beginning the massage. After about an hour Travolta allegedly rubbed the man's leg and touched his genitals.

The masseur, who wants $2 million plus damages, said he told Travolta he would not have sex with him but claims the actor responded by offering to do a "reverse massage" adding: "Come on dude, I'll jerk you off."

Pic of missing girl used in ad for Portuguese vacations
    08 May 2012 16:30:00 GMT

Madeleine McCann's parents are understandably outraged after discovering that the missing girl's picture is being used by a discount website to advertise cheap vacations to Portugal. Madeleine disappeared at the age of 3 during a family trip to Portugal five years ago. The "horrified" parents have contacted an attorney to ensure that the picture -- the last one ever taken of the girl -- will be pulled from the VoucherDigg website. "This is ... appalling," a McCann family spokesman said. "Whether it is a result of hacking or a mistake, it must be removed immediately." As a final gut punch, the ad is printed above the statement "Take the ones you [love] and enjoy your life."

Man's $1 million scratch ticket was a misprint, officials say

    http://blu.stb.s-msn.com/i/93/812AA9...AB9E8D35A5.jpg

Paul Pasquarosa thought he had bought himself the best birthday present ever: The Boston man purchased a scratch ticket the day before his birthday, and believed he had won a $1 million jackpot. But, when a lawyer looked closely at the ticket, he found there was an offset in the printing. Turns out Pasquarosa had bought a misprinted ticket, and lottery officials have no intention of paying out. Officials said they tried to take the defective tickets out of circulation when they learned of the printing problem, but the 2,200 misprints were in a batch of 20 million.
