The cover of Tuesday's New York Post — which shows a man moments before he was fatally struck by a subway train —is sparking outrage from readers.

Han, a 58 year old father from Queens, was pushed into the subway tracks by "a deranged man" on Monday afternoon. One witness said that he was caught between the platform and the train, and dragged. The front page of the Post showed Han trying to lift himself back onto the platform at the 49th Street station as a Q train approached.

On Tuesday, readers asked why the photographer didn't try to help Han instead. The picture was taken by R. Umar Abbasi, whom the Post described as a "freelance photographer." The paper and Abbasi said that he was running toward the train and "repeatedly firing off his flash to warn the operator."

The Elmhurst man who police said was killed by a subway train after another man hurled him onto the tracks in Midtown Monday was in the well for more than a minute before he was hit, a source said.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - A Clarksville woman has been charged after coming clean to police and admitting she lied about being raped.

Police said Lynette Lee admitted to a Clarksville detective last week the rape claim she had made earlier in the month was false. She said she had only made the claim because she did not enjoy the date.

On November 23, Lee had told police that after meeting up with a man she met online at Meetme.com, she and the man had gone back to a hotel together. According to a report, Lee said once at the hotel the man removed her clothes and, despite her protests, had sex with her.

The suspect in the case was called in by Clarksville police and told officers he and Lee had been out on a date and engaged in consensual sex.

During a second interview with police on November 27, Lee told the detective she wanted to drop the entire case because it was a lie. Police said Lee told them she had lied about the incident "because she did not enjoy it and it was bad."

Police charged her with filing a false report. Bond was set at $2,000.

Snake on a plane causes EgyptAir flight to make emergency landing after deadly cobra bites Jordanian man who smuggled it aboard



An EgyptAir flight was forced to divert yesterday after a passenger's hand was bitten by a snake he had smuggled on board.
The pilots decided to perform an emergency landing at a nearby airport after hearing the terrifying screams of the victim and travelers who saw the deadly Egyptian cobra crawling under their seats.

The Jordanian passenger, named as 48-year-old reptile shop owner Akram Abdul Latif, is said to have secretly stashed the animal into his hand luggage.

Experts say that in some cases the cobra's venom can kill a man in under 15 minutes as it destroys nerve tissue and causes paralysis and death because of respiratory failure.

The flight, heading from Cairo to Kuwait, landed at the Red Sea resort town Al Ghardaqa's Hurgada airport, some 300 miles south of the Egyptian capital.

Adli Saad, senior EgyptAir official, told The Jordan Times that Latif was "trying to control the reptile as other passengers were terrified when they saw it crawling under their seats." It was then, he said, that his animal attacked.

Once on the ground, Latif was taken to hospital, where he refused to be treated, saying he only had a "superficial injury," and the snake was confiscated by airport authorities.

The flight, which had 90 passengers, then continued on its journey to Kuwait without further incident.

The incident comes two weeks after a stowaway scorpion caused panic on an another flight when it stung a passenger during a transatlantic flight.

The crafty critter had snuck on board the Airbus 340 for the Iberia flight from Costa Rica's capital city of San Jose to Barajas airport in Madrid, Spain, on Nov. 22.

The pilot, fearing the sting could be deadly, ordered Spanish air traffic controllers to call doctors so the passenger could treated as soon as they landed.

Upon arriving in Madrid, the medics confirmed the arachnid sting on the Swiss passenger's left arm and rushed her to the Ramón y Cajal Hospital.

The remaining passengers had their belongings searched, to check for any other animals, and the plane was then sealed off and suspended from duty for 24 hours so it could be fumigated.

The injured woman was treated for the sting, and allowed to continue her journey to Zurich some 36 hours later.

She had been with a group of five friends. Four of them returned to Switzerland after landing in Madrid and one of her companions stayed with her in the hospital.

The aircraft was re-admitted into the fleet the next day for a flight to Mexico.

An argument about the midseason finale of The Walking Dead led 26-year-old Jared Gurman of Long Island (pictured left) to shoot his girlfriend, 27-year-old Jessica Gelderman, after the two engaged in a heated squabble over the plausibility of a zombie apocalypse. Eventually things became so "angry and bitter," Gelderman decided she had better return to Gurman's apartment to calm him down, only to find him waiting outside for her with a .22-caliber rifle. As she attempted to walk up the stairs into his apartment, Gurman shot her in the back, piercing her lung, shattering her rib, and piercing her diaphragm. After realizing he'd just shot his girlfriend of three and a half years—who had not only endured a heated, hours-long argument about zombies, but had actually driven back to his apartment with the intent of calming him with continued physical intimacy—Gurman drove her to the hospital, where she remains in stable condition. He was subsequently arrested on charges of attempted murder, having learned the real lesson of The Walking Dead: Most of the time, it's better to just stand around arguing about stuff than go shooting things.
