The Legend of Korra Book 3 & 4 AU Release Date Revealed

The Legend of Korra fans will be pleased to hear the show’s final season is only a few months away with a Nickelodeon representative telling IGN Book 4 will premiere in Australia in January/February 2015.

I guess US online Distribution(Nick, Amazon etc) will be at least around same time.

The Legend of Korra - Blu-ray and DVD Versions Announced for 'Book 3: Changes'

Nickelodeon and Paramount Home Media Distribution have announced that on December 2nd they will release, on DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc, The Legend of Korra - Book 3: Changes. Each 2-disc set comes with all 13 episodes, plus extras that include Audio Commentaries by Creators and Crew (you'll get 4 on the DVD set, and on Blu-ray they'll be on all 13 episodes), as well as Behind-the-Scenes Featurettes with Animatics (again, 4 on DVD and 13 on Blu-ray).

The BD versions come in 1080i high-def resolution with English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, whereas the DVD versions come in widescreen video and English Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. Both formats also include Spanish audio tracks as well. Pricing isn't available yet, but is expected to be the same as the previous releases of Book 1 and Book 2 in their respective formats. Here's a first look at the cover art for the DVD version, but it may not be finalized yet and could be subject to change:

If the digital views are as strong as they are, could it be possible for Hulu or Netflix to pick up the franchise rights? One can only hope.

Originally it was only going to be one book (Air), but then Nick ordered three more books, and I'm pretty sure Mike/Bryan have said after Book 4 they'd be done and looking for something else to work on. Regardless of Nick's scheduling shenanigans I think from the outset the plan was for this last book to be all we're getting in the Avatar universe, for a while at least.
