The fact Asami was the only person she wrote to over three years; the way they acted when they reunited; the way that Asami was the one to reassure Korra during the clip episode. I'm not saying they gave proof that Asami and Korra are going to get married and settle down, and have their own family. But they provided enough pieces that it's believable that they are trying out a new romantic relationship.

I'm not looking for proof that they will get married I'm not even thinking about that but Asami wasn't the one to reassure Korra in the clip episode she tried but it was Tenzin that really hit the nail and I remember Mako doing it multiple times during the first 3 seasons. The fact the she only wrote to Asami never bothered me until now, Why Asami? Yea they knew each other for 4 years but they really didn't have much dialogue until season 3 and even then it wasn't enough for Korra to only write to Asami. Everyone was happy to see Korra when she got back.

We only see snippets of their lives. There are weeks, months, sometimes years between episodes.

From what I gathered the events of season 1-2 I think was a 6 month time skip and season 3 was right after season 2, only big time skip was season 4.

I think Bane means this isn't like 24 where everything that occurs over the course of a season occurs during what is shown to the viewers.

That said, personally, I've always felt that relying on the snippet excuse is just trying to cover up for poor writing. Yes, we aren't seeing every every hour of every day of their lives, but if you're going to have something be a part of the story, you should include it in the pieces you show the audience.

Then again, I also felt they showed enough pieces that I could see Korra and Asami willing to start a relationship together, so I don't feel that excuse is necessary here. Yes, I imagine there were things we didn't see which would help build their relationship, but I also think there was enough shown in the show.

I already explained why those examples weren't good for me and really not good overall. The letters are shit, I don't see why she would write to Asami over someone like Mako who probably knows Korra better than anyone in the group and he was clearly pissed she didn't write back to him. Think about it, rewatch the series and you will notice that Korra and Asami really only started talking in the start of season 3 and was probably a start to a closer relationship but wasn't built up more from that. It would make more sense if Asami visited Korra while she was in rehab and fought tooth and nail to get her back to normal afterseeing how miserable she was, that would have made the end more believable. Korra didn't write to Asami for 3 years either I believe she finish her rehab in year and a half maybe 2 years before she went off to the earth kingdom and everyone lost contact.

So you don't like the letters because they show she was close with Asami, who you say there's no evidence that she was close with..

Think about it, rewatch the series and you will notice that Korra and Asami really only started talking in the start of season 3 and was probably a start to a closer relationship but wasn't built up more from that.

The groundwork for their relationship started in season 3, so I don't see the problem. Yes, it started as friendship, but it grew into a romantic relationship. We see maybe a few months during season 3, and during then, Korra and Asami are developing their friendship. Then there's a three year gap where Korra and Asami write to each other and they become closer.

It would make more sense if Asami visited Korra while she was in rehab and fought tooth and nail to get her back to normal afterseeing how miserable she was, that would have made the end more believable. Korra didn't write to Asami for 3 years either I believe she finish her rehab in year and a half maybe 2 years before she went off to the earth kingdom and everyone lost contact.

Korra vanished six months before the coronation -- the second episode of the season starts saying that she left six months prior (presumably the first episode does as well). And the point is that they were only friends at this point, close friends, but only friends. At the end of season 4, after seeing each other again, that's when they start being in a relationship. If they were in a relationship at that point, sure, it would make sense for Asami to visit Korra, but I think it's totally justified to not visit your friends when they're sick. Then again, maybe I'm a terrible friend..

I think it was pretty obvious Korra didn't like people seeing her weak like that. I wouldn't be surprised if Korra told Asami not to visit.

There were hints all over the place, why else do you think there was so much discussion and hype about it leading up to the finale? Here's an example of a very subtle one, where Korra, Mako, and Asami go in for a group hug, and Asami is hugging only Korra.

Not only does Korra blush when Asami compliments her in the restaurant, they also get into a heated and passionate argument over something small, like couples often do. The end where they hold hands and stare into each others eyes happened several times throughout the series with romantically involved characters, including Aang and Katara, Kuvira and Bataar Jr., Zaheer and P'Li, Zhu Li and Varrick, and I think even Tenzen and Pemma. This shit is literally spread all throughout the series and you'd have to be beyond dense to think this was some sudden thing they pulled out of their ass for fan service.

Even if there was absolutely no proof of it (even though there was), how much build up is necesary for a first date? Have you known every single person you dated for years and years with a bunch of sexual tension between you until you held her hand for the first time?

no, because there's a hell of a lot of country between california and new york... and i'm smack dab in the middle of it. maybe if it were in chicago or the twin cities i could go, but chicago is at the extreme end of my range. any further than that and its a multi-day drive and i don't do those very well anymore.

one of these days, though, i wanna either fly or take a train out to the coasts, see some shit, go to some conventions.
