So after the initial wtf of Amon's power and I thought about it for a while. The Lion-Turtle that taught Aang the ability to take people's bending stated that before the time of the Avatar, that was how people fought. They controlled each other's energies instead of bending the elements.

My guess as to the rest of the season and maybe the series is of course to find out how he learned this, and maybe the origin of the Avatar themselves, since it seems they were not always needed.

Yeah, I was like "Oh snap, he's talking about that energyspirit-bending shit" and then he did it. This episode was *really* dark, and I can tell the season's going to be as well. Kidnapping? Attacking people with lightning sticks? Taking their powers away after letting them fight for it? Just crazy stuff. Really can't wait for more.

Mako will teach Korra lightning bending.

Zuko is alive and his daughter is the new Firelord.

A ninja will be the focus and antagonist and is the catalyst that has Korra start learning non bending fighting styles as well as learning to fight with her brain instead of using raw power.

An Airbender will die. It is not Tenzin.

I know the series has been pretty dark, at least when comapred to TLA, but killing off a kid just wouldn't seem right, and if it's not Tenzin.. maybe either a sky bison or Aang in a flashback, though iirc.. Aang wasn't 'killed', but just 'died' of natural causes, so maybe it's referencing him and they'll show the death scene. God I hope it's that and not kids :< Also where'd the production notes get leaked to? I mean site-wise.

Oh, /co/? Well I've followed that, and /a/ and typically some of the info from /a/ is sort of half and half in regards to real/fake.. so I guess it could be fake, or it could just be misleading into something that's not so obvious. I mean.. killing off a kid, or even Tenzin in this series would seem a bit too dark for them (heck, they never even had Katara's Gran Gran pass away even if everyone thought she was going to) so we'll see I guess. I hope that bit's not true, though. :< The Zuko bit, and even the Mako bit and the Ninja bit seem logical.

It would sufficiently establish the threat of the Equalists, rob Korra of her final teacher, and remove Tenzin as a powerful asset to the non-Equalists, all in one.

Been thinking about the spoilers and I'm thinking that they may not be true, especially if they came from an unreliable source as /co/ lol.. but if they are true, then I could see that happening, EE. I actually have a theory that Amon's not even a spiritbender.. and it's all just an act to send panic throughout Republic City and everyone else. Who knows, though. Definitely excited for whatever comes next.

Not in the "we're evil and chaotic and throwing things out of whack" kind of way, but in the way that they have an incredibly good and reasonable point, even if their methods are extremist and unhealthy to their cause. With that in mind, speculation...

We can presume that, at some point, Amon will take away the powers of Tenzen (appropriate if it really is Aang's other kid) or Mako. Avatar Korra will have to step this shit up a notch. Aang discovered the ability to take bending... Korra will discover the ability to instill bending. Not just to restore it, though she will restore Tenzen/Mako/LinBeifong/whoever, but to grant bending to anyone. Thus the balance is restored, and equality brought to all.

Yeah, the Equalists have a good point.. much like any other extremist factions have good points, but go about it the completely wrong way.

I could see that being a possibility and someone important losing their bending to an extent, even if I don't think Amon is actually energy bending. I still think it's mostly a ploy to set mass panic among the bending crowd, and everyone in general, but we'll see.
