I don't think the complaints are about the number of ships, but the amount of time it is spent focused on. There is no doubt they've spent more time in these first seven episodes on shipping then the first seven of book 1 in TLA. Personally don't think its gone to far quite yet or anything like that, but at the same time I'd be glad if it was toned down a bit. Of course I'm not their target audience, so I'll keep my expectations low and just hope they don't go overboard.

lol, I agree that it could be toned down (at least I dont think it needed an entire episode dedicated to it lol), and that it wasnt so heavy in the first 7 episodes of TLA. But not much of anything happened in the first 7 episodes of TLA lol. I'm just saying that throughout the 60+ episodes of TLA, there was a fuckton of shipping that got very heavily focused on, and they had large segments of many episodes dedicated to. And I know not everyone is being extreme about it on this site or anything, but many people seem to think Korra is just non stop shipping while TLA had none at all and it was just a big adventure lol.

By having the one up, I mean plot wise. His goal over the first two seasons was to learn water and earth bending, while adding other plot things to make things interesting.

This time around, korras goal is to learn air bending, and...that's it. She doesn't have to journey across the world like aang, and for the most part the world isn't fucked up like tla. There just isn't going to be as much "adventure" this time around. I'm just giving a reason as to why were gonna get more romance stories instead of more adventuring like in tla.

This really wouldn't surprise me. I'm sure Tarrlok will be an antagonist at some point just because under his cocky, manipulative, power hungry attitude, I do feel like there's something he's hiding.

That's just plot device writing? The other three council members are really just extra arms for Tarrlok.

I want to know when they find the real antagonist of the series. A man we've only heard tales of so far. I'm referring of course to that dastardly villain... A Firebender! Before the series even began, this man had already killed Amon's family, both Mako's parents, and Asami's mother. This was no doubt only the beginning of his Machiavellian scheme to defeat the avatar and destroy the world.

Probably not for awhile. They kinda started the series with saying how Korra sucks ass at being spiritual and I imagine that tapping into the spirits of all of your past lives takes quite a bit of it.

Mhm, kicks in as a defense mechanism. But Aang was a monk, mr. spiritual, so I wonder if it kicked in easier for him. My thought was that it would have activated for Korra had Lin not saved her when she was falling. (During Amon's escape after blowing up the arena.) So it'll either be a life or death situation, or she'll see one of her friends in danger and it'll activate. And like I mentioned before, I'm sure they're saving that for the season finale.

It would be a good ending to the season in my opinion. Strip her of the one thing she does well as the Avatar and have her struggling in the beginning of the second season.
