That movie...I watched on Netflix thankfully and didn't waste money on it but good goddamn.

The thing that irked me the most? Sokka went from funniest guy to least funny guy.

We watched the movie first for a laugh, since we heard how bad it sucked. And that made us want to see how shitty the series it was based off of must have been. Then we watched the entire series in 2 days lol.

Not at all, all I'm saying is that it feels like Amon had his powers removed in the past, so he's jelous over the Benders that still have theirs and have gone on a crusade to rid all of the Benders of their powers as a revenge.

The whole "born on a farm to non-benders" is just a fake backstory to extract some sympathy. No one would follow him if he actually told the truth. I doubt Ozin is the only one Aang has removed the powers of. Look at these flashbacks:

Where I'm guessing it's Yakone getting his powers removed by Aang. Who, I'm guessing, is related to Tarrlok, and - like Tarrlok - could Bloodbend, as seen in the courtroom. So it makes sense; Aang removed Yakone's bending powers, and then seek revenge with the help of Tarrlok on all of the Benders.
