The Himalayas are also basically right on top of India in a near literal sense so the two cultures interacting isn't THAT out of place. Look at a map or look up the Himalayas on wikipedia where is outright says the Indian subcontinent is below them.
As such there's an out of universe explanation for Indians and Tibetans meeting right there.
Probably fake, but looks nice
Zuko, MAy and their daughter? FUCK, I've never wanted flashbacks in a show so badly before.
LOL.
LMAO
Anyone else think amon is the son of zuko's dad(can't think of his name). It's possible the firelord impregnated a woman considering zuko's mom was gone for many years. Firelord bending was taken from him so you have the revenge factor. Tenzen is the son of aang so son of firelord could be same age.
Buddhism and Hinduism are very closely related, so there are a lot of cultural similarities between them.
I think the main things that bothered me about TLA were:
1)The horrible pacing- throughout the whole movie they are basically yelling at you THESE ARE CLIFF NOTES
2)The complete removal of all the humor and lightheartedness that made the series what it was. Sokka was pretty much neutered as a character; it would have been better had they just left him out completely.
3) How M. Knight, for no reason whatsoever, changed many of the name pronunciations. (AAAAAH-ng!)
Nah. He changed them because he's pretentious enough of a douche to turn to the creators and say that they're pronouncing their own characters' names wrong. Funny part is that the way he chose to pronounce Sokka's name was the same mispronunciation the jackass in Siege of the North: Part 2 chose to use.
The movie "The Last Airbender" is shit the animated show "Avatar: The Lase Airbender" is "The SHIT!" James Cameron can eat a dick because the boys over at Nick made a far more memorable Avatar.
My comment about the cultural inconsistencies was a small problem that I was pointing out. The thing is though it's an extremely minor thing that didn't glaringly detract from the story. If you are familiar with Tibetan style Buddhism there are actually "Gurus" in their religion. The thing is though Guru Pahtik through name, look, and teachings was obviously more of the Indian Hindi Gurus. Which in fairness are quite different religions though they do still teach some similar themes.
Also I like the reasoning that Khajit had that makes sense. Being how fast they traveled by Air Bison and the multiple air temples it'd be easy to believe they'd associate with similar cultures that the creators didn't have time to spend showing. It just felt some what like Guru Pahtik had been spirited into the Avatar world from no where but really it's very plausible we didn't see all the surrounding areas the story travels through. Though he could have even been a manifestation of the Lion Turtle or something else given the Avatar world.
