That's what I was wondering as Tarlok and Amon rode off with "plans" because Amon's never like "oh yeah I'll give you your bending back, too". I wasn't unhappy with any of it but the taking and restoration seemed glossed over pretty quickly.

In other news: We're getting a 2nd series of A:TLA comics after The Promise called, The Search. It's supposed to deal with what happened with Ursa.

Finally
Is that Azula I see? Not locked up in the loony bin!?
It's possible Azula could be filling the anti-hero roll. After all it's hard to know whether she'd remain psycho forever. Some of the girls I've known growing up, all I know is hormones are a bitch, lol. It's possible she might have a redemption arc but the other comic wasn't exactly in depth at all so I'm not expecting much.
In the series I did truly feel a lot of empathy for Azula. Though she didn't have the gentle side Zuko had as a child. I think it was her father's mental abuse that formed her into who she was. Her mother was probably not even given a choice to curb the violent nature and may have even been forced to treat Azula the way she did. At the end Azula obviously had a mental break down and was like a caged animal. I felt though that more than anything she just wanted her friends and brother back. She obviously never dealt with her mother's abandonment and it showed.
That's a reason why the original series is so damn good. Tragic characters are so much more interesting than people like Korra. You immediately felt so much empathy and understood their motivation better. Not only that looking at someone like Aang. On the outside Aang's always happy and positive but all it took was a reminder of the guilt of running away and letting his people to be murdered to see how strong a person he was.
As for the Amon sealing abilities I'd like some connection between him being a villain and the new villain. Do I expect that? Not necessarily but it would still be a great transition for them to find out that he sought out an energy bender as a teacher. I think though blood bending is enough of an explanation but not a satisfyingly one. Again they don't have as much time to explain everything but the original series did a pretty thorough job of explaining a lot of things.
Awesome. Interview says it focuses on the Fire Nation siblings, so I'm assuming Zuko and Azula team up? Would be a nice change to see Azula as a good character.
Spoiler: show
Positive is they may be focusing on Zuko and Azula. Negative side.. it's still Yang working on it. :/
I absolutely loved the first season of Legend of Korra. In fact, I want ten more episodes right now. CANNOT WAIT.
I got the 46minute mark in my finale episode and it froze... I worried someone who hosted the file pulled the ultimate troll.
Luckily I was able to jump ahead a few seconds and resume the video.
All I can say is.. FUCK YEAH! Can't wait for season 2.
Spoiler: show
I was pretty happy with how the first season turned out, though i felt the ending was rushed. They could of easily left some things for book 2.
Spoiler: show
oh sweet jesus christ making my way through TLA on account of Korra
my heart
The writing is.. average at best, honestly, and they're writing some really stupid plotlines, honestly. The Toph/Metalbending school is cool, but the whole jealous Katara/fangirls/etc angle, while hilarious to most of us is just so..bad lol.
Oh and Zuko being retarded for part of it. DERP. Just really average writing.
I wonder at the reason for such scaling-back of the creative team.
As successful as TLA was, I'm having a hard time imagining Nick woudln't give them whatever they wanted for Korra.
I don't think they really need anyone else lol. Especially with only 12 eps per season![]()
They actually said they prefer writing the episodes themselves. It's one of the reasons the prefer the low episode count format (along with being able to spend more time on animating.) They also gave up some of their directing responsibilities.
They talk about it in this series of fan questions: http://korranation.tumblr.com/post/2...ed-you-to-post
Pretty sure you guys are saying the same thing lol.
your right it was early for me lol...
