Book 3 in “The Legend of Korra” series will be titled “Change.”

Speakeasy interviewed the creators of the hit Nickelodeon series, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, and they offered up a look at the current season, Book 2 “Spirits,” and a look ahead at coming episodes. The finale for Book 2 in the “Korra” saga is already online, and is due to be broadcast on TV this Friday on Nickelodeon at 8 pm ET.

“The title of Book 3 is going to be called ‘Change,’” DiMartino said. “It’s all about Korra dealing with the change of the world in this point in time. At the end of Book 2 she says it’s a new era. And it really is and we’re going to show how Harmonic Convergence and her battle with Unalaq and Vaatu kind of shifted the world a bit.”

DiMartino also said “We don’t have an airdate yet. We’re already working on the first few episodes of post-production for Book 3. So that’s all going very well.”

Vaatu will definitely be back. It was repeated over and over that one couldnt destroy the other and that they would always return.

When Vaatu "killed" Raava, she turned into those tiny pieces of pixie dust or w/e and dispersed. Vaatu did the same thing when he was defeated. He will gather back up at some point. Probably from within Korra or whoever is the avatar at the time with Raava inside them.

I do believe Unalaq is dead though lol.

I guess the only thing to look forward to, or hope for rather in S3, is some fire nation with Zuko and the current fire lord. Seeing how the other nations have changed would be nice too.

I really wish they would have wrapped up Korra's series though with this finale.

Then make a new series showing how the next Avatar deals with a world with spirits living amongst humans, and vice versa.

Oh and for the love of all things holy, make Lin bad ass again in S3! They might as well have kept her bending sealed because I don't remember her even using it this season. Total waste of a great character!

If they had done it with the next Avatar, it'd be 50+ years in the future. So while I'm sure they could come up with some conflict, it wouldn't be the same as the two world's just starting to interact.

And Lin uses her metal bending to escape the blimp when it's going down in the finale. But apart from that.. nothing else comes to mind.. Maybe a door sometime?

Finally watched the finale.
First of all...

The end of this season went total anime. There was so much influence from anime/Japanese monster movies and they have obviously taken inspiration from FullMetal Alchemist especially (not just in Asami's design which is openly based on Lust, but also facial expressions, certain movements etc). Which is fine by me, since that's a great work to draw from. But I can't help feeling the "battle of giants" felt somewhat out of place or underwhelming. Vaatu didn't seem to put up nearly as much of a fight as I would have expected, which was a letdown. Considering the scale of the battle between the two, there should have been a lot more collateral damage done and a lot more impressive fighting going on.

Jinora as a Deus ex Machina BETTER be explained next season. I understand she has a particularly strong connection with spirits and that's part of how she was able to highlight Raava to Korra, but I want to know more than that. Considering how much more people will be learning about spirits now that they live amongst them, I'm sure it will be possible to explain what she did, maybe even to find other people with her same power that she can form a sort of community with. Looks like she will definitely be a major player helping Korra to keep spirits and humans playing nice with each other, at least.

I hope part of next season will be Korra attempting to re-make the connection between her and her past lives. I really hope they aren't gone forever, since they were such a pivotal part of the Avatar cycle. It's the whole reason to have Avatar State, and if the Avatar can't do that anymore then she's essentially lost her trump card, plus it makes the Avatar less interesting. So on the one hand I don't really see them leaving the past lives gone forever.

On the other hand, though, I can see they really wanted to wipe the slate clean and start fresh. Fresh relations (everyone's single now, except those who were married of course), fresh start for the Water Tribes (South's independence), and fresh world (spirits&humans together). That could also mean a fresh new Avatar with no connections to anything previously. So I'm pretty torn on which way they're going to go with Korra's past lives.

Either way, they pretty much have a clean slate for next season now. To be blunt, this season was a total fucking mess and it didn't know what it wanted to do or where it wanted to go. Characters completely lost their previous experience and personalities, character growth was thrown out the window, and the story meandered a lot and relied far too much on comedy to keep viewers interested. The main character became completely unlikable and fans ended up more interested in the side characters and their cute, but ultimately pointless-to-the-plot endeavors.

They need to not repeat any of those mistakes. They need to throw out the love triangle shit completely, keep the characters in character with the experience they've gained, and pander toward the audience more in Season 3. Avatar fans seem pretty much united in what they like/don't like about creator decisions and what they'd like to see so it shouldn't be too difficult to add some of that stuff in to keep the fanbase gleeful.

Speaking of which, I did not like General Zhao showing up. My understanding was that he died in TLA and that was that. Of course, he was necessary to call Tenzin "Aang" so that Tenzin could have his little epiphany about his identity, but I was under the impression that when people die they don't go to the spirit world, or else the spirit world would be full of people. So I have to assume that the implication is he didn't die in TLA after all, which is really too bad since it seemed quite final.

I dunno if the Jinora thing is ever going to be explained. This was supposed to be the series finale, so it really seems like they were never planning to go into detail about what happened there.

I actually really liked seeing Zhao again. I thought he was killed too, but I thought of it as he is forever being punished for his crimes against the spirits.

I always thought he was killed too, though it makes sense that he wasn't, considering Aang always said that he never killed anyone.

Meanwhile, Zhao made an attempt to escape, but was confronted by Zuko, who sought revenge for Zhao's attempt to murder him. Zhao fought the prince until the moon reappeared in the sky after Princess Yue's sacrifice. Zhao stared up in disbelief, and was grabbed by the Ocean Spirit, which began to pull him into the water. Prideful as he was, Zhao declined Zuko's outstretched hand, deciding he would rather die than accept help from his sworn enemy and was pulled underwater.

Finished watching the 4 leaked episodes of Season 3 and so far things are looking pretty interesting(It's in Spanish so I didn't understand shit), much better than last season in my opinion(may of scenes were building up the new characters). Also the fights in those 4 episodes were pretty amazing.
