There's pretty much only one post-90's hip-hop group I give a shit about if you don't count Common/The Roots both got big in the 90's...The Coup is fucking ballers, though they're on Epitath(almost entirely punk/hardcore/metal) which is kinda weird lol:

This song isn't that fresh, but it's very much worth the listen. This guy does a lot of spoken word poetry, and is probably one of the best poets that I've heard in my life. He goes by the name of Rafael Castro and is otherwise known as mr.getback.

I found them completely on accident lol, I heard this one punk band that had broken up had mostly re-formed and they had a couple tracks up on epitath's site, I went to check it out and was like black people, wut? gave it a click and was like ok this is great...and they've been publicly called out by Michelle Malkin as 'anti-american' so you know they're probably good lol
