I went to check RT and it didn't have reviews. It means it's a POS. As much as I like the series (1-3), will skip this one.

Just got back from it tonight. I enjoyed it as well as the wife. My feeling is if you enjoyed the first one, you will most likely enjoy this one. If you hated the first one, you will hate this one. 3D was also done pretty good as well.

Just came back from watching this.

    Spoiler: show

It was an not a great movie, the acting sucked, the script was horrible. But still happy to go see it. Being a big fan of the game i was estatic to see them bring to life all the monsters on the big screen. The special effects was A+, the 3D was the first one i did not get a headache by watching the movie and my eyes did not hurt for a change. Despite all its negatives and crappy beginning i still enjoyed watching it.

Now something interesting to comment on how the movie ended.
    Spoiler: show

I have not checked to see if there were any plans on making a third movie of Silent Hill but with the way the father stayed in the town so he can go look for his wife made me think they were setting up to do a movie on the second Silent Hill game. To me that was the best one in the franchise.

    Silent Hill: Revelation 3D (October 26, 2012)

Acting was pretty bad but atmosphere/special effects/3d made it easy to over look that with some good fan service thrown in. Movie was creepy as hell. And about the ending we thought the same thing and really hope it happens.

Man, you guys must really be fans of the silent hill series, because this movie was pretty mediocre. Acting can rarely be overlooked, and the acting here was cringe worthy. The having to constantly explain what was going on or what had happened in the previous film was very annoying. Golden rule of movies: Show, don't tell.

I mean, as far as entertainment goes, yea, it was somewhat entertaining. As a movie it sucked though.

Nah I agree the acting wasnt good but luckily it was a small part of the movie since the majority was her silent tripping out and the creepy shit going on and the enviorment, was worth a watch, if you like the first you will probably like this one just as well but I understand why the critics bashed it so hard.

If they didn't get the atmosphere/music right then the movie isn't worth watching. That's pretty much all I liked the original for, and I am sure a ton of people can agree with that. The acting in the first one wasn't that great either.

Atmosphere and music are the best parts.

For me, the atmosphere and music weren't as good as in the first movie.

Huge fan of Silent Hill, loved the first movie. This one was fucking awful. I can give the acting a pass because it was no worse than the voice acting in the games. But Pyramid Head should not have been in the movie and the ending was terrible.

    Spoiler: show
Seriously what was that demon that PH was fighting? No explanation for why that thing was inside of Claudia, or if it was really her at all. Really disappointed there was no fetus vomit scene

    Silent Hill is over.

Actually i've never played a silent hill game outside of 5 minutes of 2 before I wound up working 21 days straight and had to return it to my companies library. I wanted a good popcorn flick to help keep me awake since i was doing a 5pm to 5am shift the following day and it entertained me. Acting was garbage but the special affects were done very well and it kept me entertained. It's by no way an oscar nominee, but for what I was wanting, and have already seen Looper and the only other movies I wanted to see were either out next week or not playing any late showings, it fit the bill.
