Honestly, I don't understand how this is supposed to make players think "wow, they totally aren't phoning it in and really give a shit about the future of this game." What a fucking waste of a marketing gold-mine.

A veteran player could also be one that hasn't been playing for a while. Or it's the perfect time to start that WHM mule you've been wanting >___>

Actually, the Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition also includes a code for the Destrier Beret, which can be used on any account, and is pretty kick-ass for pre-Abyssea XP. Level 1-30 it gives Auto-Regen, Auto-Refresh, Auto-Reraise, and enhanced skillup rate (also chocobo costume for all levels).

The collection was $16 on Amazon direct download for a while, but I think it's back to $20. So $10 is probably the cheapest it's been yet. I agree, probably not the best way to celebrate XI for the current players, but it's probably a good way to entice some players to return or try the game out.

I don't see the point of the beret since any veteran can just afk GoV XP. Unless you do lvl-capped stuff 30 and below a lot, I guess the auto-RR might help. ;/

Pocket WHM is the only reason I can think of vets being interested, but then that also depends if they feel this dried up MMO is worth paying double monthly for.

Right now it is 9.95 on Amazon (notice how that is 4 cents cheaper than "SE's special sale"). And it has been for a few months for sure, since I remember it popping up when I browsed Amazon a few months ago, making me think: could have saved 10 bucks lolz.

But seriously if they wanted to make this worth a fuck for actual veteran players and not another "welcome home to vanadiel" marketing attempt #54 they would actually give players some ingame shit for this special 11/11/11 celebration or a fuckin event to go with it.

This announcement means jack shit for people who were already still playing, unless you insist that "oh let's make a WHM mule" is a valid argument that this is worth a fuck for veterans and even then, hello Amazon. When I read the first line of the announcement concerning the 50% price drop I thought it would be 5 dollars, since I knew Amazon already had it for 10, but no, fuckin L O L.

Simply put, for a special date that they even fuckin acknowledge with this bullshit announcement, I am disappointed.
