Depending on exactly how much they lower it, it could come out to be somewhere around the same currency received from going twice a week previously to going 7 days a week now. I don't think that will happen, but that would make your comment look pretty dumb, huh? Especially seeing that I was commenting about jimbob's alleged 44 day completion timetable which had already taken the whole decreased re-entry timer into consideration.
Will lol if they finally figure out Mythic BLM Staff and make it supreme nuking weapon.
Saw this this morning and thought it was interesting:

Oh well, hopefully they've learned from previous lessons and have a new way to implement them.
It should be interesting though, if only for the surge in the epic fail thread.
"wtf I can't evade shit as full pink dancer anymore"
"amg I have no concept of MP management and seem to have run out after 30 seconds"
etc.
Some hard HNMs OUTSIDE of abyssea that would give an alliance of 90 a tough time (like a tougher Kirin or PW) would be most welcome to counter those saying the game is too easy now XD
I always felt that "hard and even unbeatable shit" did the community well. Spark lots of discussion and new approaches. The only big fault I saw with the last stuff as in PW and AV is that you had to go down this retardedly long path beforehand.
I´d imagine ppl would have minded far far less if it just popped around somwhere
I'm all for some new HNMs in the game, preferably outside of abyssea without retarded pop conditions... or I'll just ignore then like the rest of the HNMs in the game, lost interest in camping shit that went 21-24hrs a long time ago.
Well the wyvern colors thread is stupid, but it did accidently trigger some useful info from the Dev Team:
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/th...8492#post58492a milestone list for forthcoming version updates will be released in the near future
Some insight into the next year coming up maybe.
So long as it isnt timed repop, HNMs arent a problem.
Something like entering a zone, clearing trash mobs then reaching the HNM is worthy of a challenge.
It's also interesting that XI, a largely team-oriented (till recently) game has always made the HNMs fight alone. Sure, we have Vrtra with her ability to summon adds or Kirin with his one-time adds but most contested HNMs in each era have been solo vs alliance. Tiamat/Fafnir/KB/Aspidoise/Cerb/Khim/Sandworm/Dark Pony etc have always been 1 v. many. What? HNMs didn't get the memo that they can also build teams?
Well I ment unkillable more as in "now", as in Level 90.
XIV is karma for AV.
Years of the devs fucking with the heads of players for them to eventually just allow it to be zerged down with Alexanders. Still, they never revealed what the almighty secret was because there probably never was one. If there was a goal to reach in stupid game design, AV is it.
I'll still stand by Vrtra as being one of the best overall challenge monsters put forth by SE. It's a shame that whoever worked on lootpools was a fucking idiot and continued to be for years.
I'm surprised SE never said "nope, Alexander wasnt around when we introduced AV, this isnt how we want it killed"
*Alexander and Odin can not be summoned in Al'Taieu*
interesting observation. I guess HNMs just like to fly solo a lot.
most hard NMs rarely appear as more than one. The most they can do is keep summoning adds tho.
In BCs i suppose theres more of that sort of thing. Divine Might, Apocalypse Nigh, Waking the Beast, ASA final boss, or if you want to use the classic examples - Steamed Sprouts and The Worm's Turn. tho they're no HNM.
Based on the strategies we see, it mostly doesn't make a difference tho. People still prefer to take them down 1 at a time, unless they're so manageable that they can do both. Mob AI also doesn't warrant fighting simultaneously. Yin and Yang in Dynamis, when they were still hard weren't exactly fought together either.
I think ultimately, if people get a chance to split the NMs up, they will.
I remember when I first heard of mobs like Cerb with multiple heads, I was hoping that you'd actually need to fight each head. Instead, we got what we got. :/
Playing other MMOs where mobs have more varied AI scripts they go through makes me wish XI tried to do it more. We know SE's dabbled in it, largely when mobs get below X% HP it usually does something like with Odin, some VNMs, etc.. Instead, they seem to focus more on the cheesy route of multiple 2 hours, hate resets, or charms. Just thinking back on Odin, it would've been nice if it dropped more if you killed the Valks instead of just running them around and burning down the next 10% of his HP.
