This is going to break the FFXI-Style window dat mods![]()
:/ why was this deemed worthy to invest time for development, yet all we're getting is rehashed old content that will probably just be flooded with procs.
It is only an option from what I know. If you're not interested in it, you don't have to use it. From what I can tell, you're actually not allowed to move the box. The high is exactly the same, and the menu appears on top of the chat box, as it always has. I personally loved the chat box and macro pallet layout 8 years ago, but it does look kinda weird now with such high resos. Anyway, the option to change might not be very top priority, but it's most welcome.
I'm wondering how they got the macro bar offset from your HP/MP/TP bar as that's not what I'm seeing on the test server.

Seems your box won't adjust the log contents for the new width until you view the log also. ;/
I will say though that I like having the pet HP right beside my own and not on top of the chat box.
The new macros look hideous, and I like how the clock/day is still blocked while engaged.
Baby steps Julian, baby steps.....
Spoiler: show
Has potential. I like that setup more than what we have now. I notice the words are all chopped up, so I'm not too worried about that being anything final yet.
This is a suggestion I think would make most happy for the future of FFXI.
I've had this idea in my head (as worthless as it may be) for a long time.
This goes back to space issues/not focusing on new areas and the map that showed the entire FFXI world.
This would be the Far North, where the vikings be, this would be 1 whole entire zone.
It would have the homeland of whatever beastmen/new mobs and have a city for the folk, and the holy/unholy monument in the middle.
Honestly it would end up being a place where you could solo or hang out (nice effects/weather/mapping beyond what they did with Whitegate clouds and sea).
Campaign style would be the large monument it uses Wind/Fire.
The lore would be like "following the fire-tornadoes was the only way to trek across the tundra".
Other far areas not sure I'm thinking Ice/Water(like sea but frozen/Bering Strait), and Earth/Light(Heaven amirite?).
My thought for Dark/Lightning is like a Dark zone and is only lit briefly by Lightning but theres alot so you can see.
City would have quests/missions, I'm thinking class specific armor that isn't too great but makes up for it with looking really cool.
Cute ideas (I like the drawing <.<,) and before you get flamed by other not-as-nice people, this isn't really the place for that kind of a post.
If you really want SE to see your ideas, you're probably better off posting them on the official forum. Although they're just going to ignore it if you're not Japanese anyway.
err, wat the fuck
didnt they kinda solve the compass-engaged issue with the extra + / f thingy?
This could be a more 'permanent' solution, as any OCD interface designer would be unhappy with a resolution that required obtuse user input as a work around.
My cynical bet is that they want to break as many third party tools as they can so that we all jump ship and hope many of us will wind up in XIV (Fat fucking chance of that)
Er, I use a controller, so I have no idea what this "work around" is. If I want to see the clock, I have to go into my ability menu, choose an ability so I can pick the target (and finally see the clock at this point) and then cancel out. -_-
should make an option to move the combat menu and the compass to the side of the chat window since we are able to move it over to the side now and everything
I just looked for 30 minutes and I couldn't find it. I found the thread announcing it here, but the version update that came after that doesn't mention the keys. While I'm sure there's some forsaken key/combo during battle that will do it, I don't care anymore.
ftr, none of the updates on the test server have broken any part of windower that I use.
