I got banned from the forums for telling them they were treating the playerbase poorly. Lolololololol.

Well, they're nerfing the final fight.Originally Posted by Camate

What happened to the devs making the VW team? I was hoping for something that'd be like Shinryu pre-brew-abuse. God forbid people don't want a challenge that requires traditional party set ups.
To be honest, they should have tailored it to each job, making you prove you know how to do the job solo before letting you go to 95. And you should have had to do that with every job. That way the morons would be stuck at 95 and those with a brain would be at cap.
But that would take work and we all know SE is full of lazy retarded fucks.

Are you guys trying to ruin Christmas?
What exactly is the fight against? Should my wife's Vere MNK, good geared WHM Alt, my Almace BLU and my decently geared BRD alt be able to take it easy?
The Taru MNK involved in the black belt quest. He apparently has access to all current H2H WS, including Final Heaven and Victory Smite (dunno about Shijin).
He has added effect fire damage on his fists.
You'll have to bring a party setup that can survive both the physical and magical damage you'll incur during Hundred Fists.
Apparently the Enfire damage is high enough to take down an Ochain PLD while Sentinel is active (this, and his HP, is what's probably going to be nerfed in the fight).
He can also use Stringing Pummel, I believe, even though he's most definitely a MNK.
And from the video I saw, his enfire was ~100/punch on an Ochain PLD.
The level of difficulty will be directly based on whether the Taru will, #1, be immune to gravity/para/stun/slow/elegy, and second, will he have the AI to re use hundred fists if the party wipes to it, raises up, waits for weakness, and then fights again?
As far as toughness of fights, melee based creatures have always been substantially easier to deal with than magic based ones, with "I have a fucking retarded wipega move I like to randomly throw in the mix" type NMs being at the top of the ladder.
Don't forget to put immunity to bind and/or shadowbind in #1. I was able to solo the San d'Orian Mission 7-1 MNK NM back in the CoP days because I was able to bind him during Hundred Fists and take a few steps back. (Boy it was fun when RDM was useful.) If you can bind him during his two-hour, the fight would be much more manageable, and would actually use team-work and strategy to win. (What a zany concept.)
About time we got some FUCKING PANTS...
Video shows nothing about its accuracy, everything I've heard pertains to an Ochain pld. Congrats, it can hit an Ochain pld which is akin to someone with perfect unblocked vision hitting a pinata...whos to say a job like thf nin or countermnk cant tank it?
Link(s) to any videos of this fight please?
Theres some in the test server thread, too lazy to find em heh
Except some jobs have more than one way to play, whether that's the community standard/ideal or not. Maat sucked enough for some jobs at 70, no need to repeat the experience.
As for the video that's floating around, a PLD, BST, and RDM trio probably shouldn't be considered the standard of excellence even if the PLD had an Ochain. They went in to test the water of a 6 man BC, and unsurprisingly, got owned. Sure, people can skate by other BCs with less than the suggested party size, but their parties are usually constructed a bit better or at least tailored to encounter. As is, just swapping the RDM for a WHM and putting up Barfira as well as having better cures could've been enough for them to skate by. More DDs would obviously make its HP go down more quickly, or at least a BRD to buff those who were there and assist in the supportive duties. The MNK doesn't sound like an AoE threat at all, so it should be a relative snoozefest with a solid tank and good healer. Even that encounter won't hold much water if SE's looking to make it easier.
Maat was clearly harder for some jobs than others. I remember SMN Maat getting eaten by Fenrir hilariously easily, yet I hear that RDM Maat is incredibly hard.
The point is, in a perfect world, SE would know how players utilize jobs, design specific fights that a person who knew what they were doing could beat several different ways and a dumbass would not be able to beat, and implement them.
But we all know SE knows jack shit about their own game.
Have there been any attempts to zerg that fight? I hear he has alot hp so I wasn't sure if zerging the fight was feasible.
It has a damage cap from what I heard...~100 dmg per strike (1hit ws will do ~100 dmg, asuran will do ~800 dmg) or something like that
