Midway I just stopped reading and looked at the pictures. True fucking story.
Also, expedition manner; what's up?!
I read it, saw the post on the official forums where a bunch of people claim that Abyssea ruined the game who seemed to have forgotten that the game was slowly bleeding to death in 2009 and Abyssea was the transfusion that kept it alive.
As I said in the Official Forum thread, "If it weren't for Abyssea Square's dream of having two MMOs that no one plays would have come true."
Lol isnt it hard as hell to force certain breath elements to begin with?
The funny part of this is that wyverns are the only pets that don't depop when entering Voidwatch, which kinda means there actually is a way to bring bst pets in.. Even If jugs, but they don't wanna
Not really. Just make sure your BRDs, NINs, and BLMs are paying attention and do the damn resistance enfeeble you need.
The comment was with reference to particularly voidwatch where you call one type of pet and sod's law is it's some other type of pet's abilities - so you're left there with half the ally going "ZOMG IT'S COEURL" and you're stood there like "Dur I know but I've got half a year left on my call beast timer"...
Mind you 90% of the BSTs I've done VW with (I usually get asked to go SMN) are still "Sheep Onry - I do not own other jugs"
As for charm gear - think mine's either on a mule or in storage - buggered if I'm getting rid of it cos if I do it's guaranteed charm will make a comeback.
I like the Elmer interview. It shows that they have no fuckign clue why people don't like Voidwatch drops.
after"Overall, it equals out to a system where you can freelot, but item drops are much lower," says Ito.
So, it has a higher rate of reward just a lower drop rate for items. Well golly gee. And then their justification for no trading:If you go in with 18, there will actually be a higher rate of reward than any other content in FFXI."
So to prevent one person from hoarding, everyone has to suffer the RNG. Yay!The removal of the trading option was specifically in order to counter item hoarding. Every individual participating in the content has an equal chance to get items.
or just convert the cruor you get into gil?
Abyssea is my Bizarro World.
I don't ever use RDM (RDM was always my main) unless I'm leveling it and I walk out with items that put gil in my pocket.
Whereas before Abyssea I was always broke, did Dynamis for 1 year once a week and got nothing and watched RMT (after a 5 hour maintenance that was partly to prevent RMT activity) claim Behemoth from 2 LSs.
I'm interested in why people think it ruined the game.
Anyone who complains about the 1% drop rates on VW should take a moment to remember what it was like trying get drops like that on HNMs that you had to claim faster than other LSes, and if it dropped there were 17 other people who wanted the item as much as you.
Voidwatch has done several things, first off, a wide variety of jobs are not only useful but necessary to do VW, so instead of coming the same job every time to VW you have options.
Second, because you aren't counter lotting people there is 0 downside to going 18/18 on trying to kill a VWNM, even if you don't need that many.
Finally, because you don't have to counter lot people that dramatically decreases the time it takes to get your item. Toss in the fact that doing the runs is self sustaining with the crour rewards and gil drops that give you some pocket change, and the rare scroll or piece of gear that fills your pockets right up, and I see absolutely 0 issue with Voidwatch.
Show me one item Not D Ring because it shared a slot with another item with 1% or lower drop rate from kings.
Pretty simple. Because now everyone has excellent gear and there's no way for the elitist linkshells to look douchy anymore. No more "oh my shell has 50 ridills, 200 ebodies, etc". Also there's no botting involved so the $2000-3000 they paid for the bot claiming programs is wasted. Except for VNMs which can still be botted but the rewards aren't exactly ultra rare.
So yeah, the game has been ruined for those people. They just can't live knowing everyone can get equal treatment if they put the time in it. After years of being the lootwhores of a linkshell and abusing everyone's time, effort, and health (coz playing ruins your eyesight) for their own benefit. And they can't do that anymore.
That has absolutely fucking nothing to do with the terrible loot distribution design of VW.
People aren't complaining about personal loot boxes, people are complaining about being unable to give loot you can't use/equip, or even worse, ALREADY FUCKING HAVE, to someone else that actually wants it/can use it, most probable by just adding it to the loot pool.
This. I dont know about other groups, but because of the distribution system my ls has 0 motivation to do VW as a shell. The only time any of us to it is when we see a well organized PuG.
For shells that dont have the "Leader gets all" mentality, VW distro is worthless. In the time my shell would spend trying to get the few people who cared something like ace's mail, we could very easily go get the 2 new guys in shell a useful emp. I am sure this is true for other shells that dont do VW. Now, if they hadn't completely nixed the "add to loot pool" option then my shell would be doing a lot more VW. Watching a Coruscanti go to a whm mule is depressing as all hell.
I would agree that Voidwatch drops are more accessible than old kings drops for the average joe who has a job but puts in some time. There's just one little fact that glosses over, though. Kings was one of the worst loot distribution systems ever made. Being better than the worst isn't enough, SE.
idk if people were trolling...did Voidwrought a couple days ago:
[02:52:40](Rauni) ring ;s
[02:52:53](Elvaanmoq) third ring in a row :X
[03:00:54](Elvaanmoq) ok, I give up. Gonna call a GM, my chests are not working. 4x ring in a row.
[03:18:19](Gilder) 3rd ring for me lol
[03:53:02](Gilder) got another ring...
[03:59:51](Rauni) another ring ;(
[04:00:02](Elvaanmoq) me too, another ring …l…l 6th?
[04:07:57](Rauni) ring >.>
what did I get? A fucking silver mirror, and Aoidos: Feet. FUCK, YEAH.
I get its just lolring, but still, its a RARE/ex item thats essentially falling to the same person multiple times, which should never happen.
I tossed 19 Strendu Rings before a friend of mine got her first. Voidwatch just exudes Law of Large Numbers.
