I agree. Common sense aside, if it was, why would they call it Step 1 and Step 2?

It really seems like the 99 trial (version 2) was the original intended trial everyone would be required to complete to reach 99 but with the feedback being so negative, they've been forced to cobble together an easier trial to avoid being rightfully called out on designing no-life tier content. What's even more amusing is the fact that the Instruments have no unique glow, the glows themselves have weak effects that dont affect the user and this is meant to be the hardest goal in the game? How utterly uninspiring.

The original datmines only had relics/mythics/emps with Afterglow effects so why were there no 99 weapons without afterglow on them if this was originally meant to be a forked path? Seems like the dev team is saving face from a stupid decision and calling it 'stage 2' as if they had this planned out all along.

True.. But imagine 36 helpful and willing LS members help their leader with everything they've got! The leader will be done within months! That's the spirit of FFXI.

Thankfully that kind of thing seems to have pretty much died off in the wake of Abyssea, not that it would make farming 500 PW's into anything even remotely resembling a realistic task anyway.

Also, whats the big threat of letting DRG have 1min 30 secs of 25% JA haste every 2 hours? DRK can pull better than that every 5 minutes.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that means Third Eye has a 25% higher proc rate or something?

Augments "Jump" V ("Jump"+35)
+35 base damage to Jumps?

Are you refering to the original 500 PW/1000 ADL/whatever trials?

There is no reason to think those were intended to be a stage 2 of anything when they were originally put on the test server.

EDIT: To put it another way, why would you think there were always supposed to be two different 99 RME trials when there weren't two different versions of 99 RMEs?

Why do they bother to mention this for these weapons, yet on alot of other weapons with "enhances <insert JA/trait> V" isn't mentioned how much they add? I know we already know most. Hell, I tested one of them, but since they bother to fork it out for these, why not the rest?

Also am I right in understanding that every relic ws got a 90% ws dmg bump since 75? (2x 25% and this 40%?)

I don't think so. They have only gotten one 25% boost (that I know of) and this is boosting it to 40%.

Also, I think it's because people have been wondering what the hell those two even do. I wish they had said something about Terpsichore, because I'll be damned if I know what extra tiers of that does.

Ah ok, I wasn't sure if the second 25% ever happened. 40% total sounds about right for Tanaka. Shijin probably still better lol.

The afterglow news kind of pisses me off if i understand it right. Basically If you have afterglow it goes completely to waste if your pt is wearing relic/empyrians which is a fairly ridiculous marjority of the game atm. Please tell me i was imagining that.

Hell yeah, spend 30k 'drite to not have to cast a couple Cure IVs every 8-10m. Balance!

Maybe if you convert when you have like 400 MP left! I personally never used to convert until I was almost out of MP, so it would have saved me almost nothing.

Really you do it so you don't have to Convert with full HP to get full MP. So you're free to disregard AoEs and let yourself get beaten down to 1/3 HP without having a negative effect on your MP restored. The thing is a piece of shit with almost no strategic purpose.

You'll get no argument from me there. RDM melee has its own history of drama around it, and that stupid sword is just a cherry on top. If they went back and changed it to augmenting Enspells or Composure, who knows, it may be situationally useful, but as is, yeah... The fact that step one isn't implemented gives the impression that it was created at the very last minute for the sole purpose of preventing the on-comming shitstorm.
