hmm, even at its prime, my old linkshell never had more than 20-22 on at a time back on gilgamesh during the 75 days (12-16 was more the norm for events). that broke up during 80-cap, nowadays it's just me and a few friends, no more than 6-7 on at a time.

I imagine that most ls on the servers will team up to do legion with the most people. I see that happening on Sylph and it worked well back in the good ole Einherjar days.

I got 22-25 people online usually, and our peak hours we have 30+ so, this kinda content is what I'm drooling over, inb4 y u have 30 people when events cap at 18.

Am I reading this correctly that they imply you can get the same item from drops AND from points? Seems it is, but I'm not used to reading good news anymore. Yay for making a system I've been preaching since Salvage =)

inb4 rewards are fail because of barance.
Legion Points sounds like Assault Points.

VW has the rare/ex radiant armor that can possibly drop from fight but also have the nq armor that can be sold.
Think it will be like that.

Screw SE for attempting to make content that requires more than 3 people in a MMO, pricks. (sarcasm)
BG currently has 8 active people. (i.e. People who have logged on in the last week.) Many are not on every day because of jobs and real life. (Blazer went and had a baby so I would have to run LS events.)

Honestly, I am hinky about recruiting more people because more people means more mouths to feed and it is hard to find quality people who don't have an attitude.

They would have just said "drops will be handled like VW but this time in a common pool" if that was the case.

Looks like start with your core team and PUG the remaining people, setting rules via shout. Make sure your people have party leads in case anyone tries anything... unsavory come loot time and you should come out fine.

Of course I'm assuming this is stupid-easy tier Voidwatch stuff that can be PUG'd. If anything complex is involved then yeah.. some shells might want to merge.

Legion would work much better if everyone paid their own entry fee (360k/18=20k. Ala Limbus) and trade points for items ala Einherjar.

P.S. I'm beginning to realize my suggestions make too much sense.

I think in the long run that would be a better system to pull gil off of the server.

Eh, it can be a pain, but word of mouth is helpful. Most of us have been playing this game for how long now? 5-8 years? People know people who know people. Recruiting by word of mouth not only makes it easier for people to get along, but also decreases the likelihood of getting bad eggs/tards. Depending on the specifics of the command structures, merging and cross-shell cooperation can be viable too.

Running every day is a pain, too. Honestly, there's not much that requires that kind of time commitment these days. I know way too many people that burned out on Voidwatch that way. At the moment, one of my shells runs 2 days a week, the other runs 3 days, each for 1-3 hours, with separate schedules and days off in between. It keeps the pressure off and makes things more enjoyable overall.

As for the actual leading of events, it's not like anyone should need their hands held any more. When I lead EM through their first Voidwatch runs, all I had to say was "Hey, this is Kaggen. He uses death prophet. Stun that. Don't be dumb. Ok go". The only real leadership that's required any more is essentially keeping the peace and making sure that people are happy and working well together. FFXI is easy. Anyone who's done any endgame in the past should be more than capable of adjusting to the demands of new content once they know what they're fighting.

Apparently they're increasing jump damage while lowering the recasts. Balance!

Being in charge of a Linkshell when you care about other people is difficult. You have to put the happiness of a bunch of other people ahead of your own. Feel like blowing off events tonight? You can't, because someone has to run things. Sick of farming a particular NM? Too bad, someone wants an item from it. Want to do something for yourself? Go cry a river, you have mouths to feed. But I don't want to turn this into a bitch-fest about "heavy is the head that wears the crown".

What is there to run every day, though? Division of labor is important, too. One person can't do all the work, nor should they. If you're worried that the shell won't be able to function without you there, then you really should sit down and talk to your members. That's not a good place to be in, for them or for you. If you're the shellholder, treat your sacks like a forum moderation staff. It's not like Sono runs around handing out every ban and every warning in every section. Likewise, people don't just become mods because they're popular, post a lot, or happen to be friends with Sono. Mods are just people who are willing to do a rougher job for no pay and generally no appreciation because they like the organization. That's all sacks are, too.

If you don't have at least a couple people willing to be sacks and take the load off, then the shell might be a lost cause to begin with. If you do, they should be more than capable of running things in your absence. Likewise, normal members should be plenty capable of putting things together on their own if they have to. They shouldn't need to every day, as that would defeat the purpose of having leadership in the first place, but it's not like strumming something together when the shellholder has work to do is difficult. I mean, is it really that hard to assign jobs and pick a monster to kill?

It sounds like you're trying to allocate too much time to events and not leaving yourself with enough free playtime. That's not good, man. HNMs don't exist any more, so there's really no need to grind everything out during all of your free time. Schedule events that fit in your schedule without dominating your schedule. If you guys don't use vent or mumble or something, I suggest snagging that too. It's hard to burn out on events when you're having fun and chatting with people whose company you enjoy.

I might just be used to it, though. Playing this game since NA Windows release, I've almost never been a regular pearl in any shell I've been in. The longest I wasn't a sack or shellholder was like 6 months before I became a sack in EM. It can be rough, but there are ways to make it a hell of a lot easier on you as long as your members are willing to work with you.

I half suspect that they just mean lower recast = more damage *over time*, rather than each individual jump will do more damage, but if I'm wrong, hey, that's awesome.

Are they increasing Jump damage? When I google translated it from the JP dev post it seemed from the context that it said

"With lowered recast on Jumps, the [Dragoon's] damage output will be higher."
