Had the names mixed up, it's "Lost and Found"
You guys are making me feel depressed that Campaign Ops were not nearly as good as Assaults -- granted, there were a lot of less-than-stellar Assaults. What a waste.![]()
campaign ops were so fuckin fail because there was literally no need for them to progress anything. You could hit max rank without ever having done them. While the same can be said for majority of assaults, it would be a lot more tedious (5 pts first completion, 1 point per repeat, gonna take you a LONG time. And you also cant get captain rank without doing them all.
Theres that one op that was merely xp fodder for lowbie jobs, the bomb one, and SE ultimately nerfed it and did such a piss poor job at it:
If the beastmen see the bomb planted, it just poofs, and they leave you alone. No message about it being defused by the beastmen?
Why arent the beastmen aggroing me for trying to blow up their fortress? They fuckin rage if you attack the fortifications NPC with a dagger, but a bomb is ok.
I don't think it's fair to say ops were bad because they weren't required. It was frustrating that they had no real reward, and trying to get other people to do them was an uphill battle.
They helped fill out the storyline in a way; a lot of them were tasks like bringing supplies for the armies, or gathering intel, planning scouting runs, racing a chocobo to a destination, or just participating in battles.
I think the largest problem was that they weren't very memorable. It was a lot like campaign ranks--basically no feeling of accomplishment.
Technically Fiat Lux was a campaign op, and I still remember that pretty fondly. I can't believe I stuck around for three hours at 1 A.M. to enter.
Fiat Lux will always be great for the amazing amount of lulz that occurred when you jumped in line in front of the jps.
Watching the endless wave of people zoning out dead including myself a couple times at Splitting Heirs was fun.

No info aside from that. Looks super exciting. Edit: Well, inb4d, but I have a cool picture with mine. Yay for picture.
Potentially some more quick and easy teleports (possibly the best bit of voidwatch).
maybe they'll all drop stone cool down periapts to reduce the time between stones from 16hrs to 30 minutes, making it plausible to not have to worry about buying dust like crazy.
Oh yay they're finally using the señor dvergr model
Maybe I'm just nitpicking but why did they use a TOAU mob in COP voidwatch when there's TOAU voidwatch coming out at the same time?
The entirety of the "Jeuno II" jurisdiction makes no sense. West Ronfaure, for example, is part of Jeuno II. I think they've generally just named them for the cities where the related quests begin. It's not really referenced in-game anywhere except the teleport list anyway.
Jeuno II is named that way because the voidwatch ops are tasked by the duchy as opposed to the 3 nations..
anyway.. in attempt to explain the new dvergr a little.. based on what we know from test server dat so far.. these are the areas involved in CoP and ToAU Voidwatch
Lufaise, Misereaux, Uleguerand and Attohwa
Arrapago, Zhayolm, Mamook and Caedarva
could be more but no proof of that atm. its hard to even tell if there'll be tier progression at all, or if it'll just be 4 VW ops in the same tier.
anyway, doesn't seem like they'll be replicating the Zilart Qilin thing in CoP or ToAU since it doesn't appear like there'll be VW in Sea or Alzadaal (who knows tho).. and it doesnt seem like theres gonna be VW in Aydeewa either.
anywayz. dunno if there'll be a pattern anymore.. but if new Dvergr is in, then most of the other guys should be in to.
the purple kindred will probably end up in CoP like Ule and the Rio apkallu in arrapago probably.
Funny that you can warp out to almost every zone in the game, outside of dungeons and cities.
