What I could use is Elmer doing another back/forth Q&A with the JP playerbase just so we can see if we're on the same base regarding the bullshit of current XI end-game and abuse of the word balance.

Could just go over to the JP side of the official forums and ask them, no?

More like having a crack habit then all the crack in the world magically vanishes and none of the other drugs out there give you the same high so you don't bother with them. It's a good thing in the long run, but you'll always have the craving.

    Terrible analogies are terrible. <_<

In the previous adjustment, we lowered the AoE damage received for players that weren’t the target, but we plan on lowering the damage received even further. Please be patient as we make these adjustments.
It was posted in a Walk of Echoes thread, so it may or may not matter in most content. WoE has kind of become a brew-zerg from what I understand.

    No useful merits for you!

Mocchi was able to speak to the dev. team to clarify a few things in regards to the Voidwatch Final Chapter regarding loot and weaknesses.

A player asked whether or not drop rates would be affected by Treasure Hunter, which caused some strategies to be changed around when compared to previous chapters. We can say that yes, Treasure Hunter does have an effect on loot drop rates and we plan on further increasing gear drop rates on top of this as well.

Some players suggested that we remove the low quality drops, or “useless” items, from the rewards at the end. We aren’t providing those lower tier rewards to cause players to be upset, and it is possible for us make it so those drops are removed and no item drops in their place instead.

However, if we were to replace certain items that are perceived as useless, with no drop players may feel that the loot system is bugged when they don’t receive any reward. As such, we would like to provide some sort of drop each time. Also, we have received many comments asking that the items dropped are improved slightly, but we have no plans to make any adjustments at the moment. We feel that we have to draw a line somewhere, or else the requests would begin to get out of hand. As such, we will maintain our current system.

We understand those that would like the drop rates of scrolls to be raised, but we consider gear to be the main aspect of rewards from the final chapter of Voidwatch. Since Arise and Meteor can be obtained through other content, we will maintain their current drop rates.

    Weaknesses
    • Beastmaster
It seems like opinions are split on call beasts. Seems like there are bit more calls for Gerard to be used, but we would like to continue to receive feedback.
    • Puppetmaster
For PUP’s weakness, we’re considering using “Strobe” as their trigger.
    • What about implementing weakness regardless of specific pets, avatars or automaton frames?
We didn’t touch on this last time, but in terms of this function, it will be implemented. However, we have to consider if it is acceptable to place weaknesses on support jobs when it comes to adding weaknesses to SMNs and PUPs.

To explain what we are trying to accomplish: we want to offer an exploitable weakness from the player’s pet/avatar/automaton at a certain rate if they use a special ability. Basically, we’re not trying to make it so “certain abilities will always result in a weakness trigger.” The reason is that it would be too difficult to manage which abilities are used in which situation when also needing to consider weaknesses in battle.
    Most useful post for last:
    * They confirmed TH works, which we actually already knew.
    * They are going to increase gear drop rates.
    * They can't remove shit drops, because if they did that then you would get nothing at all and wonder if the game broke.
    * They can't make shit drops less shitty, because if you start granting player requests then they might start thinking you made the forums because you wanted player feedback.
    * They are not going to increase the drop rates of Meteor/Arise.
    * They have confirmed that Meteor/Arise drop from other sources. AKA Legion.
    * They may just make PUP/SMN/BST proc with a certain (non-100%) chance whenever the pet uses a BP, TP move, or something else, rather than requiring a specific BP/etc. and having it be a 100% proc rate.

    lol @ indirect balance reference

Edit: What the fuck @ that explanation of shitty drops? They add shit drops just for the sake of giving drops to NMs? That's extremely retarded. And no, I'm not surprised at that fact, but I'm surprised they're willing to be so upfront about something so stupid. They should just make the low tier legion NMs drop tokens that can be traded for points or something that might actually be useful.

So still no word on adjust the triggering system for the rest of VW, nor addressing the BLU spell problem, fantastic!
    Spoiler: show
I'm also surprised after all this time they haven't bothered looking at WoE's trigger system.

    Greetings!

Based on feedback we've been receiving, we're checking to see whether it's possible to add new slots for certain Voidwatch equipment (such as the sets of Ogier, Athos and Rubeus).

(There were other suggested additions, but when it comes to gear, there is a basic rule where they are categorized as a single set.)

When it comes to implementation timing, we'll offer more details as soon as we have them to share!

Some info about Legion inner workings...

Quote Originally Posted by Rukkirii View Post

As a follow-up to our recent Legion posts, we would like to go over the balancing of Legion battles.

To start off, the battle concepts behind the Hall of An, Hall of Ki, Hall of Im, Hall of Muru and Hall of Mul are each designed differently. Also there are differences between the enemies in each Hall, such as some monsters featuring high agility in exchange for lowered HP, some that may coordinate with other monsters or even varying behavior depending on the order in which you defeat them.

With that in mind, the key to conquering Legion is to be aware of these patterns and planning the appropriate tactics to counter them. In other words, making up things as you go along will only get you so far. When you first tackle Legion, it can be challenging to figure out how to advance, but by trying different strategies, players will start to see patterns and trends within each Hall and enemy that you should be able to come up with some good tactics and formation.

Hall of An is designed to be fairly straightforward and it features monsters with high attack, monsters that will use debuffs and monsters that are balanced in between. We suggest that you first challenge Hall of An to get the idea on how to tackle the rest of Legion.

Some players have had trouble finding a "safe spot" in between the first and second waves of enemies. While there is no specific area where it is consider to be 100% safe, there are certain parts of the map that monsters won't wander around. However, even though they don't wander to close to those areas, they can still detect the players depending on the distance. We can adjust and narrow down the range where monsters spawn and wander but if we were to do so, the monsters would be more concentrated and players may end up being attacked by 3 monsters at the same time so there are both pros and cons. But if the range should still be narrowed down, we would like to give some thought to it.

When it comes to the elementals that drop temporary items, they are designed to run from and attacker and to stay once they have been claimed. Even though they run off, they won't despawn if you have attacked them while they are present. The reason being so that players can defeat them and obtain their items at the perfect time that they need to.

All that said, we'll continue to gather your feedback and comments for the dev. team so please keep them coming!

Upon reading it again, it actually looks like the opposite of the opposite. They seem to be cautioning players that if their wandering area becomes too constricted, they may link and players will end up fighting all three at once.

Maybe there is an incentive, and we just don't see it because we haven't cleared far enough to see the rewards yet! Or did they change that already, so that all potential rewards are shown now?

Dat mines don't show what each augment is to +1 adbj gear, which is all I care about from Legion. Augments could really make or break some of the new armor's usefulness. Even once some Abdhajis Honors are found though, still gonna be forever without the test server available to speed up checking the synergies. I'm hoping that currently you need the Title from the final chapter to unlock them from the NPC sell list, and that if they make it so everything is buyable without clearing that they only cost like 500 points each.

You can't augment NQ armors, which is what makes the new system so amusing.

NQ Armor - Almost uniformly shit, with a few stand-out or situational pieces.
HQ Armor - Base armor is occasionally pretty useful looking, AND it can be augmented, but it's going to be Tier 0 for quite a while.
