Everyone complaining about how Abyssea ended up killing alliance-style play obviously approached Abyssea wrong.
1. If you're in Abyssea as a linkshell, you're probably working on weapons. Anything else is not worth the linkshell as a whole's time.
2. Break people into separate groups. 18 people trying to do one thing at a time is obviously stupid unless it's cleaving for KIs where everyone just AFKs anyway.
3. Figure out a way to finish two weapons in to 85 in 4 days. Typically involves working up two weapons in the same zone from the two different NMs at the same time.
4. Figure out a way to finish one lv90 upgrade in a day.
5. Do more than just Abyssea as long as interest is shown.
I was in Exodus for a while and this was basically the solution that kept things running. If your LS couldn't adapt, you have no one to blame but yourself. Abyssea didn't kill the game or alliance/linkshell style play.
That being said, Voidwatch is still a miserable failure and due to the way it was setup, created yet another group departure of people from the game.
