    They clearly did everything they could to make it unprofitable so I don't really think it makes sense to draw comparisons to other methods of gil farming. I really don't know what they had in mind... I guess either LS events or extremely generous pick up groups. As Mahoro has said in a couple of places it's good to help out those 0/XXX LS members who really want a particular body, I guess. You have to laugh at the three ticket weapon requirement though. Hell, I think I've only been in three groups ever where a HQ weapon dropped.

    I understand why updates and content are shitty so lately, since they want to stretch it out (duh!). But its hurting the game more stretching content out with falwed reasons/systems, then makeing the content actually right from the get go. People will loose interest at some point, i think its better to let them loose interest while enjoying the game because they have nothing anymore to do, then looseing interest because systems are fucked up and the game is not enjoyable anymore. I mean you want returning customers for your future games as a company, or am I wrong?

    Adjustments to Ease Solo Travel

    Hey everyone,

    As we have recently made adjustments so that adventurers could easily travel through the Quicksand Caves solo without the need for an army of galkas to step on the weight platform, there have been various requests for similar adjustments in other areas that require multiple adventurers to travel about.

    We currently have two areas that we are planning to adjust:

    Garliage Citadel
    We plan on restructuring the requirements to access the Banishing Gates when traveling solo. The main reasoning for this is due to the fact that we are currently revamping various quests such as “In Defiant Challenge” to make it easier to complete without requiring the assistance of others.

    Castle Oztroja
    We are also planning to change the requirements necessary to open the Brass Door at the very top of Castle Oztroja.

    Moving forward, we will continue to make adjustments to make sure your travels and adventures are more enjoyable.

    FFXI is a decent-good game which could be a great game if not for the sheer rigidity and uncompromising nature of its development team.
    Isn't that the point though? It's supposed to be "ok" now, they aren't going to make a 10 year old game outshine FFXIV like they did during Aby, look at it from their point of view. I think they have the notion that XIV will do what XI never did, be a AAA MMO that attracts millions of players, it won't happen but it's obvious they think otherwise.

    XI will never outshine XIV again, they will make sure of that.

    Enjoy your shitty updates to the most expensive MMO around.

    I guess you can't expect new folks to know how to MGS a torch on with mobs who'll rape you at lvl60, and then get invis up real quick, then hightail it pass the gate before it shuts on you......then hope you know about the wiki for the codes, since good luck doing all this for the first time within the same game day.


    These are stupid easy tweaks for them. What bothers me more is that they have to announce them as fixes on the tracker, rather than just leaving them be the odd ends tacked on the day-of update notes, and focusing their news more on the shit they actually have set for the roadmap.

    We also received a lot of feedback regarding the possibility of having a different item be created when you change a piece of equipment into a ticket.

    This is a nice idea for both the ticket giver and the receiver creating a win-win situation, but since we ultimately decided to make tickets tradable, we felt that even without this idea the tickets will find their way to those who want them, so we decided to put this off for now.
    We decided that being able to trade tickets would require us to bump the number of required tickets by 2.5x the original amount.

    Adding additional requirements is retarded, but this is more useful than the previous 3x untradeable system.

    Great change IMO. There will atleast be a market and a greater reason to actually do the mobs once you have their body drop.

    You guys realize this is exactly what the original ticket system was right? Except the original ticket system had 6 tickets required, and you didn't need to have the NMs title.

    While its an upgrade from the ass they turned it too, all they did was turn it back into what it originally was, plus or minus an extra requirement. Feels like they made it complete shit just to turn it back to this, and show us that.. Yes.. They really can make anything terrible much much worse.

    I'm still trying to figure out what thought process went on that made them think a 5 to 1 Trade ratio is acceptable? When I get my first body, I don't have to collect 5 shards of it to get the complete object... Getting a Ticket is as rare, if not rarer, than getting the Body in the first place... Why do we need 5 of them?

    Oh, hell, why do i care so much. My Character isn't even active... ~_~

    its miles better then the previous version they wanted to implement, and its lightyears ahead of what we have atm... nothing.

    They probably realized that with their system in place, there would be no incentive for anyone to redo those fights once they got the super-rare item.

    You know what else is pretty good incentive: upping the fucking drop rate from 0.01% so people dont go 0/600.

    Edit: It seems to be the about the boats, but friend is wondering how those are dats.

    I did Byrthnoth's XML update before the mini update and the lamps worked fine.
