FUCK!
FUCK!
Well good. That means it should be possible to use the JP files to trick the PS2 into downloading the whole expansion. I just know that my PS2 doesn't have anything past RoTZ on it, and when I last logged in on it (*) it made a point of telling me that CoP area's wouldn't be accesible unless I installed them. Then later my 360 refused to download WoTG area's unless I installed that expansion to it. I know that the PC versions don't care that the expansions wheren't installed 1 by 1
*- It was the FUCKING STONE AGE by the way, I had to use my feet to power my car
I'm curious to know how Japanese PC playerbase feels about people who still use PS2.
Yea when I got my Xbox back from the RROD factory I had to reinstall.
It wouldn't let me unless I did the trick where you played music while reinstalling.
They don't really need to. The game data itself is fairly useless without an active POL/SE account with a product ID for that content bound to it. Active PS2 players have that.
What they should do is create a stub installer for the PC version and distribute that for free. Log in with a valid/active SE ID, and have it download the current PC files to install. That would be a nice thing for PC users wanting to reinstall, and also allow folks who only have the 360 or PS2 versions the ability to install the PC version as well at no additional cost.

Where does it says they will be items in inventory?
I would assume they're akin to Stratagems, based on the description (and thus not inventory items).
"Uses runes" to me = "Ninjitsu"
And if your Mac was made in the last 3~4 years, you're capable of dualbooting Windows.
Rune Fencer sounds like its going to be a fail job.
With it maining a 2hand weapon, at least it'll have better odds of holding hate with the current broken emnity system than PLD & NIN combined. ;/
Spoiler: show
At least GEO's stuff stacks with everything else making them somewhat useful. I'm really not sold on RNF yet.
Naw, this is a misunderstanding of the enmity system. The faster you attack, the better chance you have of holding hate. Using a high delay weapon like GS is substantially worse than using two katanas or a sword. The best option is single-wielding a dagger.
It's like this:
1) Everyone re-caps hate every attack because it's so easy to generate enmity through damage.
2) Monsters update their current target every X seconds (idk the exact number).
3) If you are the last person to have acted when the monster updates its current target, you will become the new target.
Therefore, it's best to use the lowest delay weapon possible so that you increase your odds of being the last person to attack. Using a GS is terrible for holding hate.
Well the players have been asking for a new tank job. So what good ideas would you feature to make it a desirable tank? Seriously, I'm not familiar with acting as a tank in this game, all my jobs are support stuff. I mean the obvious overkill would be to simply tack on tons of enmity to every rune action -thingy.
Naw, putting tons of enmity onto actions don't help because of the enmity caps. The Enmity system in FFXI is so broken that the only thing tanks can really hold hate on are things that you aren't trying to kill. There are essentially no fights at the moment that require tanks for the main monsters, and even if there was then there's no easy way to make a new form of tank preferable to Paladin (besides something obvious like raising the enmity cap for them and not Paladin).
DDs cap hate after about 7~14,000 damage, which is a minute or two of damage in most events that might potentially require tanks. I know I personally tank on WAR in Voidwatch for about the first minute and then the VWNM starts spinning even in bad groups. This is the "everyone hits the enmity caps" state I'm talking about. This behavior is unavoidable with the current Enmity system, and SE has been very resistant to changing it. This also means that "Tanks" can pretty much only tank fights where Summoners, Dragoons, Annihilator RNG/DRGs, etc. are the major hate sources due to their enmity-dropping abilities. If they have buffs, DRGs and RNG/DRGs are actually going to hit the enmity cap pretty quickly anyway.
