    Ps2 fishing is waaaaay easier than pc fishing. I got my ebisu before grabbing a bot and it was very very noticeable for fishing depending on which platform I was on.

    Slow frame rate makes the fish easier to catch like Julian said, some people try to slow it down by running all sorts of shit in the background or by running multiple characters. A lot of fish are pretty impossible to reel in otherwise. If you look in some of the fishing threads, you'll see the random guy come in and say he can't catch any Haks/Gugs/Liks without using the rings and that people must be botting to catch them. While people are most definitely botting, it's completely possible to catch most of those without any of the rings.

    Little fixes are awesome. The problem with little fixes is that they should be lumped together in one or two "quality of life" improvement posts as opposed to 50 little "hey look at this shit we're finally fixing after 10 years aren't we the greatest!" posts.

    Good evening, Vana'diel!

    As a part of the character growth system, we will be increasing merit caps and adding new categories in the future. However, we will not be removing the cap entirely.

    The reason we are not removing this cap is because it would allow players to ultimately max out everything and cause characters to become universal or too versatile.
    The whole idea behind merit points is to offer many choices and allow players to choose based on their preferences. This way, even though it’s the same job amongst everyone, their proficiencies and roles are different. With that said, by totally removing the cap from merit points, the fundamental purpose would be lost.

    I'm ok with that for the most part. I'm hoping the WS merits are going to see a lot of the increases. Having to choose between 3 when most people have so many jobs at cap is annoying.

    Changing races would be... stupid. I even think changing 'haircuts' would be stupid too because it's more than the hair you'd be changing. As for merits, I'm okay with both the upping and the rational for not removing the cap all together. Diablo III has that capless concept and it fucking blows. As for what to increase... as a SMN I really don't give a rat's ass about Tier 2 being raised, but Tier 1 might be nice. Then again... SMN doesn't really care much about stats or WSs so...

    Overall, I'm okay with this.

    Might just toss ~18 or so into STR and the other 6 into DEX. Make all my jobs on Mithra have over 100 dex... >: D

    • All rewards procured from the Nashmau (H-7) NPC Kilusha will be displayed on a single page.
    [dev1132] Assault Adjustment


    • When moving to the next floor during Nyzul Isle Investigation and Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region, characters will zone in at coordinates a few character-lengths apart.
    [dev1131] Battle Content Adjustments


    • It will be possible to reenter a battlefield due to all participants being KO'd.
      In addition, the distance that enemies roam will be adjusted.
    [dev1130] Battle-related Adjustments


    • The interval between the conclusion of battle and the next possible time an attack command can be carried out will be adjusted.


    • The interval between the time a ranged attack finishes and the next possible time a new command can be carried out will be reduced.


    • The guard and parry skills will be adjusted so that they may level up even if the skills do not activate when players are attacked.

    • The maximum number of upgrades for the attribute merit point category will be raised from twelve to twenty-four.

      In addition, the following effects will also be increased:
      • The bonus defense enhancement granted by Protectra V.

      • The Fields of Valor and Grounds of Valor field support effect White Magic: Protect.


    • Resistances to the following spells will be changed:

    [dev1127] PC collision adjustments


    • PCs who have not moved for ten seconds or more are no longer subject to unit collision.
    Static icons for special abilities as well as white and black magic spells have been temporarily implemented on the test server with today's update, but are still undergoing adjustment because they are designed to be displayed in the new in-development macro palette rather than the current list interface, which does not afford the icons enough space.

    The following icons have been added. (*Appearances may differ depending on system environments.)

    Other icons for categories such as weapon skills, summoning spells, and abilities, will be added in the future along with other aspects of the user interface.
    Blue magic, songs, and ninjutsu use generic icons as per usual.
    Some of these are reposts of things they've already announced. I have no idea what the Battle Content Adjustments is referring to. Anything with an entrance item? Legion? Something else? Unclear.

    Can understand not doing completely new icons for every LBU spell as that would be retarded, but new icons to show AoE for people who don't read what they're casting or at least some new HD icons for elements and physical icons would be nice. No reason to be skipping over Ninjutsu and Songs at all, kinda baffling.
