    I would hope that SE is professional enough that these changes are done by different groups.
    If QoL fixes and actual content/gameplay changes are done by the same DEVs, SE is worse off than I thought.

    Either way, I don't think the small changes like /displayhead are delaying anything at all, let alone anything major. I don't ever expect anything from SE, it's always just "oh well that's nice" every now and then.

    First, while it's true that stopping development on stuff like sheathes gives them more time, it never made sense to me to assume that they'd automatically take that extra time to adjust "more pressing matters" (Usually meaning "what I want them to adjust"). Second, speaking purely about this, there's plenty of people that like aesthetic changes.

    I tend to prefer complaining about things that have literally no use/are mind-boggling in their implementation. Aesthetic changes really isn't one of them. Again, you might as well just get pissed that they're making armor models for whatever new gear they end up releasing. I certainly know part of the reason I still play FFXI is that I like the world of Vana'Diel and the art style present.

    Since when is making storage available everywhere something that I a single player want them to adjust.

    Adjusting the stats of Rajas Ring to accommodate the last 24 levels, etc. Things they've said they will do, are even easier than /displayhead, and would actually matter.

    Somehow I doubt that adjustments like that which would be as simple as changing the code of a single item are being prevented because they're just plain running out of time to do it, and more because of them continuing to toot the horns of balance atop every fortalice.

    Did you read what I said? The chances of them developing "what we want" at a time that they had planned to and at a time when we request that they do in lieu of changes that most people don't care about are exactly the same. Aside from saying that changes like these aren't necessarily universally undesirable, what you're saying is nonsensical.

    Neo salvage and stuffs
    Greetings!

    The higher tier Salvage expansion is currently under-development as we speak and I’d like to share the basic concept of what we will be adding.

    Higher Tier Expansion

    High tier expansions will be added for each of the four areas (Arrapago Remnants, Silver Sea Remnants, Zhayolm Remnants, Bhaflau Remnants)
    Fundamental concept is the same as the original Salvage, but will be targeting level 99 characters
    Will contain strategy elements such as route selection and NM spawning conditions

    Changes to the Pathos of Alzadaal

    After considering that these imbued items clutter inventory, and the time spent lotting and distributing them made it difficult to focus on strategy, we will be changing the system so that instead of using items to unlock limitations, they will randomly be removed when defeating monsters.

    While it will no longer be possible to select the player you wish to unlock, we are planning to make adjustments so that the effects removed by defeating monsters will be more than enough to go around.

    Up to 18 players can participate, but we are envisioning a difficulty level that can be cleared with around 6 players. Additionally, due to the change in the system, the higher tier focus will be on relieving the entry-level difficulty associated with doing Salvage, while providing content and rewards for level 99 characters.

    Reward wise we will be preparing two kinds of equipment: revamped versions of the previously existing Salvage gear and new equipment.

    Finally, as shown on the road map we will be adding this to the Test Server around September and plan on spending time for balancing/adjustments. With that said, actual implementation is still a bit off, but we are working our best so you can all try it out on the Test Server.

    We will be releasing more specific information around the timing of Test Server implementation, so hang in there a bit and look forward to it!

    Sounds like a win-win upgrade to all, assuming the pathos rates are as good as the cell rates currently, although I hope they keep the starting chest in. Last thing you want is your DDs getting the magic-casting, while your mages get weapons at start.

    It sounds like NeoNyzul with an even worse "fuck you" RNG, if I was going to be pessimistic. Except replace pessimistic with "Accurate, because this FFXI".

    seriously random pathos unlock is fucking dumb.

    just make cells r/e/tmp. They dont clutter inventory, they'll stop dropping if everyone in pt/ally has them, and if their intent is "random unlock", the inability to trade is moot.

    Greetings!

    The Development Team has returned from their summer break and has started preparing their responses in regards to all the feedback we have been receiving on the new 2-hour abilities.

    To start off, I like to first share some changes that are being planned.


    • Paladin
      We will be adding the same enmity increase effect as Invincible.
      The reflected damage can be increased via magic attack bonus and shield skill, but as we have seen cases where enemies were resisting it we have decided to increase the rate of accuracy and make adjustments so that it is more difficult to be resisted. We will also be correcting the bug where other effects such as reflected damage from spells would take precedence.

    • Beastmaster
      We will be keeping the HP recovery and status ailment recovery as is, but we will be changing the reraise effect to a stoneskin effect. The strength of the stoneskin effect will vary depending on the pet. The idea is that Familiar will increase the pet’s offensive capabilities, while the new 2-hour ability will enhance the master’s defensive capability.

    • Samurai
      In exchange for making the effect duration low, we will be making it so that elemental abilities are also evaded.

    • Puppetmaster
      The same enmity properties for the player version of Invincible and Benediction will be added.
      (In cases where the head’s respective 2-hour ability will not work due to the combination of head and frame, such as a sharpshot head with a frame other than a sharpshot frame or a stormwaker head with a valoredge frame, we will be making it so Mighty Strikes is used.)
    Finally, I have one request when submitting feedback. We have been seeing comments stating that “we don’t want this” and “totally remake it.” Your feedback is something we wish to utilize in our efforts to make the game better, so instead please try to be as specific as you can with how you’d like it aspects to change.
    TLDR:
    PLD not too bad now, another middle finger to BST (not that RR was any better.. maybe this version of SS will be thousands of damage instead of hundreds), SAM gets buffed more, PUP stays the same.

    that stoneskin better be = to the jug pets max HP at the very least.

    srsly the whole 2hr is a such a big FU to BSTs.. and its not like Familiar was ever that useful without the augmented Relic+2
