    I made a post in General waaay back in the day when I was hella mad about the homepoint message. You can find it here.

    A quick review shows of the roughly 60 items in that list,
    Most of the major gripes where resolved, some made irrelevant, others resolved and then reintroduced (H2U stupid drop rates!).

    My favorite thing re-reading that list? Player bullshit #1, RDM's bitching about curing. I never outright hated the job, just the snobby players. And look at RDM now. /smile.

    My favorite thing about that gripe fest was the update that happened 2 months later allowed Shami to store seals, instantly giving everyone 3+ slots back.

    I think a lot of decent suggestions keep coming up over and over from multiple people while the nuttiest and most niche stuff comes from one or two individuals then fades out.

    Almost every third post mentions something about Enmity being broken or inventory issues, for example. The four-page screeds about how the complete injustice inflicted on all mankind by Red Mage's limited melee capacity eclipses all issues involving inventory or transportation or the battle-system as a whole and anything and everything that isn't related to a Red Mage hitting a thing should be put on hold until Red Mage can hit things with things and this sentence is purposefully really long to illustrate how long those posts are; those are less common.

    I just hope the new guy has the altogether to noticed the painfully obvious and separate the wheat from the chafe. Otherwise, we're getting a magical sticker on the toilet that keeps Abraham Lincoln away, which we'll be able to view in detail while Orderly Johnson rapes the shit out of us for the fourteenth time this month.

    Main problem with that thread is people are posting laundry lists, and most of the laundry lists include at least one very retarded request which makes me not "like" the whole post. That's just me, though, and based on the number of likes, I'm sure there are many more people who "like" the posts where they agree with any statement in the post, even if the post as a whole is dumb. People need to stick to one topic per post for the "likes" to mean anything at all.

    You either spam the forums, or you list long enough to see yourself become the villain.

    If you're referring to my posts in some way, I'm sorry, but nobody else would have reminded SE of their duty to finally build Bastok's monorail system.

    I'd hope my suggestions didn't have anything really, really stupid stopping people from liking them, but I couldn't really compress one idea per post unless I wanted 20+ posts with ideas.

    It wasn't at anyone in particular. There are just some wall o'text posts there. Never mind the fact that it's not even likely that your average poster is going to spend the time reading through a post, but if the dev/community team really does read anything there, I bet they shy away pretty quickly from the really lengthy posts. I'm not saying that people coming up with big lists is in itself a bad thing, it's just that if they are honestly using the number of likes to decide which posts to consider (which is so completely retarded to begin with, but I don't even want to discuss that), it's really impossible to know what people are "like"-ing when they click that on a post that's a really long list of many items. I want to believe that they will read every post, but I really can't. Frankly, I want to believe that they will read ANY post... but I can't.

    I blame the wall of texts on the fact that for all the good that happened during abyssea, there's still hundreds of little things that the players have hated for years that have never, ever likely been considered by the developers.
    Opening up the floodgate on that is like walking into a teaparty rally and wearing an "I love Big O" Tshirt. You're wearing a target unintentionally, and you're going to hear horrible things said to you because people can't see past their own prejuidecs long enough to listen that you're a fan of a Cartoon show and not necessarily the President (and also, retarded).

    I really want them to look at relic weapons some more. And add an alternate 99 trial for them that you can solo. But I know that suggestion will be glossed over by "Well then we'll have to do that for empyreans and mythics!" When they really shouldn't. They'll never acknowledge that relics are the solo friendly weapon choice of the three.

    Just as you can solo currency, you can solo more currency, sell it and then purchase marrows.

    However, Arch DL is a terrible design.

    Not sure if I want to say more JPs play than NAs, NAs can't get over their own egos (Ex: Not liking a post because one thing you may disagree with), NAs just being apathetic about the "attention" and the language barrier, or some combination of these. I do find myself more inclined to side with Matsui in the sentiment that just insulting an idea or mechanic needs to stop, as that alone doesn't help and arguably leads to some of the destructive behavior that almost feels encouraged here by some, especially on more personal levels. The game definitely has/had a lot of problems. And while all of them may not exactly be problems for one person compared to another by virtue of tolerance, that doesn't magically make the mentioned problem not one. This is definitely why a wide range of feedback can be good.

    I would put "Revamping enmity system" on top of the priority list. Its ass and it seriously needs fixing.

    There is 2 tank jobs that are useless because of this reason.

    There is an upcomeing tank job (Rune Fencer) that will be useless too if they cant dish out the dmg to hold hate.

    I'm personally not interested in enmity changes because 1) I have other ideas for fixing tanks 2) Even if the enmity system is uncapped, DDs would probably roll through the enmity system better than tanks due to high damage output.

    that doesnt change the fact that the enmity system is ass. There are jobs that can "control" enmity flow in a battle with abilitys or spells, but they are useless in the current enmity system and play style. The reason I dont want just simple tank fixes and an actually enmity system fix is, so those jobs can benefit from it too in some way. I am sure the battlesystem and future HNM fights would profit from this.

    During this week’s Test Server update we will be making the below changes and additions to the new 2-hour abilities.

    New 2-hours will be added to the below jobs:
    • Bard/Samurai/Blue Mage/Corsair/Scholar

    *Currently there is a known issue wherein using the 2-hour abilities for bard, blue Mage, and scholar via the action command menu will result in not being able select the target properly. (In regards to blue mage, the spells for Unbridled Learning are grayed out and cannot be selected.)
    We apologize for this, but please use the above job’s abilities and blue magic with either command line execution or macros.

    Effect adjustments:
    • Paladin
      Addition of an enmity increase effect equivalent to Invincible
      (We understand the feedback about the enmity cap, but we would like to look into and address this separately from the 2-hour abilities.)
    • Beastmaster
      Reraise effect will be changed to a Stoneskin effect
      (The strength of the Stoneskin effect will differ depending on the type of jug pet called, and will be half of the pet’s max HP.)

    While this week’s update will only encompass the above changes, we are continuing to look into other jobs as well, so there is a possibility for further changes and adjustments.

    Holy crap. Fuck the changes, most important part of that quote:

    I am going to stay cynical and believe that they are merely saying that to shut up up as opposed to the devs actually understanding that enmity is the single most borked thing in the game right now.
