    I'm so far behind after coming back lol just slowly getting jobs to 99 and not in noob pearl and what not.

    But all this talking from devs and heads is making me feel confident of my return.

    Next step is to get into a ls that does events lol. Pick ups blow! Iv been very lucky that iv meet some of my old ls mates and tagged along with them.

    NIN is significantly behind MNK in base DPS of DMG/delay too isn't it? It was bad enough at the 75 cap but now the gap is just absolutely retarded

    Considering that groups just reset 2hours in Abyssea on any 30 minute event, it is about time.

    If they nerf Embrava to half duration it will just make groups bring twice as many Scholars. If they only nerf the haste effect people will just bring Bards more often as well as Scholars.

    For Perfect Defense I could see them removing the status resistances then having Asylum covering them but considering that Asylum doesn't block stuff Perfect Defense does already in at least one case, I could also see that not being something SE would do.

    I'm also guessing that if 2hours are brought down to 30m~1hour we'll see Familiar nerfed in duration though. Mijin Gakure might be left untouched as a free Weakened removal and able to be merited down to 30 minutes though...

    I hope they significantly rework certain 2hours that are weaker first before they get to nerfing some, but they might just consider reducing the recast down to 1hour as "enough" on something like Benediction rather then making it actually be able to remove Doom with perfect accuracy, or Eagle Eye Shot and the damage it does being considered compared to other 2hours.

    Maybe the plan is to have each of the 2hours each job gets be separate merit categories even, and you have to choose between buffing the 2hour and reducing the cast time on each, separately. So help me if SE decides to make 2hour merits per character rather then per job though, they've crapped on the job system enough with weapon skill merits.

    Now I'm worried.

    I was ecstatic that they were listening to us now, but all this talk of nerfing PD could very easily put SMN back in the "never invite" column, and I would be very upset if that happened.

    Remember when Voidwatch AOEs were "lowered"?

    Perfect Defense/Embrava nerf may be one of the few times that balance is really in order.

    I suppose it's because those items were only relevant for a couple months before they started raising the level caps. A lot of gear they added during the raises (Abyssea gear) is still relevant, and a lot of it before was made relevant again because of synergy augments, so I guess it wouldn't be too unreasonable to let you augment Nightfall/Noctournus stuff given that it was pretty difficult to get.

    It's funny, I'm pretty sure those are amongst the rarest items in the game now that Fiat Lux is never open.

    I just hope they do it in the right order, ie. balance shit content that is nothing but a spam fest anyway, then adjust Embrava and PD, but as it's SE I'm sure they'll just nerf the fuck out of them and slightly tweak the content 3 months later.

    What's the solution though? You couldn't make THF do as much damage as MNK because then everyone would just use THFs for everything and MNK would be useless. Slightly buff daggers AND change the H2H: DMG formula?

    Just buff THF and NIN dmg to be less shittacular, doesn't have to be as good as MNK. The gap just needs to be lessened.

    The Weapon Damage between melee jobs is less than you guys think. It's Weapon Skills, Abilities, Traits and such that widen the gaps between jobs the most.
