Don't do it for the full 2 hours then? I just leave when i get bored not like you have to pay per entry anymore. For money i enter near mid/end of whiteshells so i get TE during that and you can leave after bronze if you want.
Dunno where to post this but it sort-of fits here. Excerpts from a Tanaka interview:

Only tangentially related to FFXI/FFXIV at this point but I think his statements regarding his XI/XIV career are worth a look.
Oh my fuck, screw that guy. Did he seriously just try to lay the blame for FF XIV on everyone else?
He totally did. I also like the importance he laid on leaving a solid roadmap for the devs to follow once he left, and we're only a month or so into post-Tanaka FFXI and we're already off the damn Roadmap and pushing shit back for drawing board. New Two Hours and splitting/reducing timers, I'm looking at you.
When asked about the Tanaka's roadmap: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChCck...tailpage#t=59s
Posted how I felt to the apologists in the 14 section, but simultaneously taking credit for a games success while absolving himself of the other is pretty lulzy. We all know the game had the exact same problems in beta as release, we all know they were brought up, we all know they were ignored. If it wasn't him ignoring them, then he should have spoke up then and washed his hands of it - then he could have just been fired instead of sent back to their moneymaker he couldn't fuck up too horribly (who am I kidding lol)
In other news, since his leaving, 14 is looking more and more solid and is generally pretty fun. When he left for Abyssea release, XI was fun. When he came back, it wasn't. When he left, it looked like the new director cared again and the game may be fun with Seekers.
I think that pretty much spells it out.
Well, they make Korean MMOs, he will feel right at home; BRACE FOR INCOMING GRIND!
Only Tanaka can take leaving on a balanced note and fuck it up by making safeface comments regarding the monumental failure of XIV.
Couple pages back, but if you were blood tanking on MNK at 75 you were doing it wrong. I had zero issue tanking Tyger on MNK at 75, between Counterstance and shadows. You stood as much chance of being OHKO'd as any other job (defense never mattered, Counterstance had no real drawback), and the counters added to your DPS and lessened the burden on your healers. It may not have been any better, but it certainly wasn't any worse.
Digressing from the sorry state of RDM for a moment, why doesn't MNK (and PUP) have anything for its Sub slot yet? It gets totally shafted by being classified as a one-handed DD (screwed on the DEX > Accuracy conversion) without the benefit of a second weapon/shield for extra stats to compensate. It wouldn't be hard to add "wraps" or something with similar stats to grips. Anything would be a nice improvement.
I mean, when he left because of a "sickness that couldn't be cured" it should have been obvious that that wasn't the primary reason. He was obviously forced out but SE doesn't care to say that, and it certainly wouldn't look good for him to say he was fired or otherwise forced to leave, so we'll never know for sure (although we pretty much know for sure already).
It's pretty classless of him to completely shirk responsibility for the game he was the producer on. The problems XIV was blasted for can be traced back right to the Alpha, which was essentially redundant since he completely ignored all the feedback from people telling him things had to change.
There's a direct correlation between the amount of fun each game he was involved in and when he was involved in it. XI was getting very stale, he left to destroy XIV, and boom. Abyssea; content with actual, obtainable, useful rewards. XIV launched, blew chunks, he got kicked back to XI, and XIV started to improve dramatically, and boom. Voidwatch; tedious, marginally interesting content with pathetic drop rates, nevermind all the "balancing" going on concurrently. Now he's gone, XIV continues to improve, and Seekers looks promising.
It's a bummer he's sick, but I have difficulty feeling sympathy for someone who can so nonchalantly dump all his failures on the people he was in charge of.
And you called me an ass for calling this jackass out...
Two dicks don't make a right.
One thing I thought was interesting:
Sounds like dialysis to me."It's not the sort of thing that can be completely cured and I'm going to have to deal with it for a while to come, but I'm visiting the hospital every week and it's not a particularly big problem.")
Hep C is my vote.
Looks like the AIDS he spread in FFXI finally caught up to him
The only treatment for his disease is barance.
