You get the wand for transferring by the end of August, but generally you have time till the end of September.

The wand is for people that comply with the changeover in the time-frame that they are asking. I am under the assumption that anyone that completes the transfer after this month won't get the wand but I could be wrong.

The transfer process will be available starting at the end of July, 2011 and is scheduled to last until August 31, 2011. After August 31, 2011, however, access to PlayOnline and FINAL FANTASY XI will not be possible until the transfer process is completed.

Please note that all users will have to log in and agree to the transfer by August 31, 2011, or they will lose access to PlayOnline and FINAL FANTASY XI.

Actually you're right. Dunno where I got the Sept thing from. So yeah, anyone that actually plays continually and transfers atm is bound to get the wand. People that are away right now or decide not to transfer now won't get it.

No, not really. We do have to convert over, yes, but only if you plan to keep playing. If you don't convert by August 31, and take a few months off or whatever to let this shit settle, THEN convert, you won't get the useless 1-week-cooldown trinket.

A lot of people are going to not realize there's even a transfer until after the 31st, get locked out, and then not get the wand because you waited too long.
