BG Legal: Settlement offer minimum?

I've found myself having to pay a settlement to a law firm and I wanted to know if there was a minimum I had to give. Could i offer to give them $5 a month and would they have to accept any offer? I live in new york if that makes a difference. I'm a student and the amount their asking for is way too much for me so I'm hoping that this is the case. Thanks

I'd guess it would all depend on the full situation.

Was this a court ordered settlement? If so any pay agreement that would take years, would probably need to be approved by the court.

If it's just a bill of services, then I'd imagine the law firm would want the money as soon as possible, and refuse the $5/month over a ton of years. Lack of reasonable payment would just result in a lawsuit, against a law firm (good luck)
