I still can't get over having 10K+ to spend on a trip. I just did 5 weeks in Ecuador and Peru, and even with hitting up their respective tourist draws in The Galapagos and Machu Picchu, I spent around 4-5k total. It's beautiful down there, and there's a lot of good mountainous/hiking/nature spots. But if you're going on your own, and this is your first trip like this, I'll second what everyone else says and stick to Europe. Being that far away from home and needing to guess your way through a conversation in another language can be a pretty overwhelming experience. Hell, I'm trying to get to Europe myself over the summer!

There isn't much to get over... I have X amount of money I can part with - I'm not TRYING to use it all. Someone asked how much are you willing to spend, well there's my top end... It would be stupid to have said money is no object, it is, and obviously the cheaper the better.

I also like to gamble and frequent atlantic city at least twice a week... If in UK I will definitely be playing some poker. Gotta have enough for that lol.

I almost did that, and kind of regret not doing it. Next time it comes up I'll be doing it for sure -- but that trip will be with a friend/family member. I was taking more classes at that point and it would have been brutal to leave them.

If you are a reasonably intelligent person you'll figure shit out in Europe, it takes all of 30 seconds after getting off the plane to figure out what "hello, thanks, goodbye, exit, bathroom" are in whatever language your area speaks. The signs are the annoying part (street signs, subway systems, buses, getting to hostel - which is an adventure at times, etc) the PEOPLE are all at least somewhat proficient in English.

I would strongly suggest hostels unless you are really old (and even then, I chilled with older folks in em so its whatever, no one cared) or have some sort of OCD. Its way more interesting, especially traveling by yourself, it gets you to meet so many people from all over the world.

Wop was spot on with his statement that if you don't plan things (just roughly, like how you are getting from A to B & where you're staying) the price can definitely go way up. Hotels are expensive as shit, last minute train/airplane tickets are expensive as shit, as is eating out every meal. Just gotta be smart. Street food is the shit anyways.

Look at a map, write down some names of where you might wanna go, make a mark on map, see what makes sense and what doesnt. Like...on my trip we first planned to be in Barcelona & were going to go straight to Salzburg until we realized "yo, Rome is right there otw to Salzburg...lets go there too." Was a great move. Not sure if you'll find cheap flights within EU or not, depends when you want to go.

Did you read what you linked? though it's called "economy class syndrome" that can happen in either type of seat, and it's preventable easily in either type of seat.

Many of the published reports include cases of VTE which have occurred in business or first class, or in travellers using other forms of travel.

I'm another person that'd recommend against going to Florida, though it seems like you made up your mind about not going there anyway. It's spring break for a lot of colleges right now, so beaches are probably flooded with drunken douchebags. As far as Europe goes, I've only ever been to a few cities in Germany, so I can't really recommend anywhere. I've always been told London and Rome were really fun places to see though.

just went for 2 weeks, your country is expensive as hell and christchurch is a shit hole. queenstown and the northern island in general are pretty awesome and the people are the nicest ive met in the world as well.

If he flies business class like me, $4-5k would be gone just on flights to UK, not to mention to other destinations and HOTELS.

Can't shop much too. If he's not the shopping kind of person, don't mind staying in 3 star shabby hotels and eat McD every meal, then sure by all means.

To OP, don't listen to this guy. PLAN CAREFULLY according to your budget. London is not cheap.
