The hardest part about Heqet is triggering red !! before he runs out of HP. Squibs aren't an issue, it's just quicker to only have to kill 3-4 after Heqet and move on than linking the whole area. I usually try to limit amber so that I don't have to bother with time building for as long.

Find out of the WHM following Heqet is afk by running it into Athamas :D Heqet is slow and it casts so you can get a lead on it, go around Athamas, and make the frog make a beeline right through the spider lol

Prior to shutdown Athamas didn't live longer than 1-2 minutes after pop, on Carby. Too many dncs and nins soloing it. It's practically in as high a demand as Guku.

There wasn't even a closure here, that guy said he would test the bot (which is useless cause if its indeed malicious, the owner can just give him one that is clean or take down whatever is installing those virus when the bot opens) and never responded again. Probably best to just use your own judgment, if you believe all this then don't use his product. If you don't care or don't believe it then keep using it until otherwise.

One one hand, he could be completely innocent. It's no secret he has a bad rep in the community so people would love to bash him.

On the otherhand, it's been believed the hacks are selective on the server side (people are individually targeted). So anyone looking for something bad would obviously not be targeted.

Either way, you're right. It's going to be up to each user to decide whether or not to believe it and as always, whether or not to use illegal third party tools.

I don't really care about botting at all anymore (it is virtually useless now). I am just saying if you can only derive pleasure from the game by botting out the annoying parts, then it is probably time to move on.

Claim botting IS useless, for the most part. But the nonbotters or the people who only botted for claims don't really realize what kind of tools are out there. I use bots (when I actually play anyways) but don't think I'm elite. I use them because they do certain things that make this game easier and more time efficient.

--AFKChat (or something, I forget the name) -- sends me a text msg on my phone when I get a tell while AFK
--I used that program above in alliance with a claim bot AND onEvent so that I could AFK camp Argus/Trial NMs and know not only when it popped, but if I got claim and if I got the drop (if there was a drop)
--All sorts of bots that EXP for you on nearly ANY job. And I'm sorry, I don't use this because it makes the game easy. I know how to play my jobs (most, lol) but fuck exping for hours. I can do some dishes, laundry, watch TV or read.
--onEvent for casting certain spells on my mule on a specific mob. I can use my main to say THunder4 and that bitch will cast like a mofo. I don't actually have to even switch to that window/account. Or stun Ga's/Abilities.
--Buy shit off AH for cheap if it's listed for under a certain price. Buy shit off the AH for you anyway so you don't sit there like an ass wasting your time.
--Walk through doors. You have fun spending time in Garlaige getting four people for those doors. My ass completed that an hour ago.
--Count Abyssea Lights (Never actually used this, but it's there for the math retarded people who actually get lights in an ally 1 by 1.)
--Burned SMN to 90? Great, skill up while afk. Don't be an idiot about it, but get capped SMN skill in days instead of months. (Any job skill ups possible.)
--I HATE making macros so I use a tool that takes whatever I have equipped at the moment and creates a text file of it. Does it in in two ways, too! Simple Text for normal windower macros and the way for SpellCast to use.
--Don't want to trade 150 Yag Necklaces, or whatever else for fame? There's scripts/bots for that.
--Clear all the NPC/PCS from screen for less lag. (Not used much nowadays.)
--See where dead mobs are, see VNMs while underground, etc.

Most of this shit is free, too. I used to use WizBot, but my account "ran out" after I bought a lifetime and they changed it. I'd never go back, especially not with the way they treat everything and after the possibilities of infection. While Wiz was very smooth running, I deal without and with other programs.

On the flipside of everything, botting does kinda make the game boring in the sense you do get shit done quicker and you stand around wondering what can you "not" do next, lol. There are times where I just leave the game on for hours and it's doing something for me.

I quit before abyssea and when I came back to the game, I literally went to work and came back a 85 RDM cause fuck lvling. Granted that doesn't take long in abyssea, but I had no clue at the time, lol.

Using allseeingeye to make JPs rage quit over NAs popping ???s in Abyssea before them makes me smile. Also handy for camping gukumatz and other various spawn NMs, because fuck guku and all of the solo NIN/DNCs trying to claim him.

While other people have to tab around or F8 or whatever for the ???, you already have it targetted and are spamming your trade macro. Very hard to lose.

It's "MyGear" -- Not sure where I found it. Possibly the XiClaim site, which I have access to via a friend. When EasyMac died for me, I looked for a rep program, lol.

Edit: I think this thread should now be about addons/bots and where to fucking find them. At least the free ones. Fuck FFXI dead game, make this shit easier and time efficient, please. I never used AllSeeingEye, I'll have to give it a try. I used ApRadar for seeing underground shit, but I don't think it can target it.

Bind a macro to a key and spam F8/the bound key. Simple. Waste of time to use something like that, and I definitely agree it seems like it'd have negative effects.

Multiple click ???s are another story though.
