Alright guys false alarm. Zeon propaganda with their shoop skills scared us.
Probably nothing. Maybe the current is strong enough to flip the boat at the center, but looking at the foam movement, it doesnt seem to rotate very fast. There is a down current in the middle for sure, but enough to sink a boat? Unlikely. It's not like there is a sink under the ocean, it's just 2 current that are face to face.
Normal liquid behaviors. They are spinning in different direction to conserve the momentum.
And coriolis effect is a lie! Okay, not really, but it's so weak that it doesn't applies to normal toilet or any liquid in movement like this.

BBC says a small radiation leak may occur at the nuclear power plant. Is that a big deal? Or easily cleaned up/handled?
oh you"Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to the people of Japan, particularly those who have lost loved ones in the earthquake and tsunamis," said Obama, informed of the development by his chief of staff, William Daley, at 4 a.m. ET.
"The United States stands ready to help the Japanese people in this time of great trial. The friendship and alliance between our two nations is unshakable, and only strengthens our resolve to stand with the people of Japan as they overcome this tragedy," Obama said.
The main issue is not the leaking. Is that all the cooler generators are destroyed by the side effect of tsunami. So, if they can't find some of the generator, then it may becomes serious issue
I'm just going by the comment made on bbc. They didn't give reasoning behind it, only said a small radiation leak may happen at the reactor plant. I believe their source was a Japanese official. The reasoning behind it is irrelevant honestly, all that matters is how dangerous it is to the environment and country. The main issue is not the leaking. Is that all the cooler generators are destroyed by the side effect of tsunami. So, if they can't find some of the generator, then it may becomes serious issue
I'd still take the nuclear energy over wind power.
I mean, so the earthquake/tsunami causes it to heat up, maybe there a small leak somehow even though there wont be and the news is trying to fluff up the story. I'd take that any day over GIANT WIND BLADES FALLING FROM THE SKY IN EVERY DIRECTION, THE HUMANITY
From what I heard/understood it, they're just releasing minorly radioactive stuff to prevent any serious material from getting out. Breaking News (from AP) has it as "Japanese authorities will release radioactive vapor to ease pressure at nuclear reactor", which doesn't seem like that major or a deal if they can do that on such short notice in an emergency. It's probably not the best situation, but not as bad as the news is making it.
local newspaper hold a quick interview with a guy from our national emergency center, which is our end of the IAEA (international atomic energy agency) network. for those that don't know, the IAEA built up a worldwide communication network after the tschernobyl (sp) incident. this because important information about the incident weren't given out to other governments.
currently, the information given by jp government through that network aren't 100% clear (translations etc.), but there isn't anything serious to worry about (yet). they (IAEA network) have a special channel which is exlusively used for real emergencies (imminent meltdowns and alikes) and they haven't used it (yet).

A few more pics in here that I hadn't see around. The one of the road that is split down the middle like a zipper is just wild.
Apparently there is a new earthquake, about a 6.6, that struck Niigata Prefecture. Man, the Japanese have no damn lucky today...
