If the readings are that high around reactor #3 then I bet the containment pools are gone & some spent fuel is exposed.

So whats the 'real' info?
Is staying inside your house really gonna help save you when that shit flies toward your house...
DON'T USE AIR CONDITIONING KEEP WINDOWS CLOSED?
Anyone who was exposed before they extended the radius is effectively infertile according to this professor they have hear, and anyone who can't leave is now screwed because they will be exposed to some degree. :/ I'm telling you I don't believe any of the bs this guy is spewing. Just come out with it already and be brutally honest. The longer the wait the more that can go wrong. I mean another plant now having issues can only mean other plants are also probable having issues I would assume.
Apparently a US crew exposed to a small amount of radioactivity. But they can just wash that shit off.
Maddow gives an overview of the situation and whats going on. Slightly old since it aired at 9 thought.

First video.
Cooper on CNN saying things like "Worst case scenario is Chernobyl times 3," is that just sensationalism or is there any truth to there being issues happening with the other two reactors now? I was under the impression that 1 and 3 were under control for the moment.
It's not Chernobyl, just sensationalism. CNN (vanilla CNN anyway) is rather shit on many fronts.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano's comments at the press conference last hour don't paint a particularly bright picture though for the immediate area. But again, it's not Chernobyl or anything.
NJ Burkett from ABC news is one of the only US reporters in the area apparently and says that the evacuation orders aren't actually being enforced and they are only now leaving the area after news from locals and the government has become sketchy and unreliable as they are expecting things to turn for the worst. Now I'm smart enough to know that's probably a bit sensationalist but based on the press conference just now, I'd actually be tempted to believe it. I don't think the government believes anything it's saying at this point and people are gonna die needlessly if they keep being so secretive.
This what my command just sent out:
"At approximately 0700 local (Japan) time, sensitive instrumentation on USS
GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) pier-side in Yokosuka, detected low levels of
radioactivity from the Fukushima Dai-Ichi Nuclear Power Plant. While there
is no danger to the public, Commander, Naval Forces Japan is recommending
limited precautionary measures for personnel on Fleet Activities Yokosuka
and Naval Air Facility Atsugi, including:
A. Limiting outdoor activities.
B. Securing external ventilation systems as much as practical.
These measures are strictly precautionary in nature. We do not expect that
any United States Federal radiation exposure limits will be exceeded even if
no precautionary measures are taken. We are continuing to analyze the
situation and will update you as we learn more."
We are about 170 miles from Fukushima.
Maaglin from Kujata, demo at one point right? <- Baishin, you said you worked for the DoD didn't you? Is the consensus among your peers that the Japanese government even knows what it's talking about at this point? What's the level of faith we have in them to solve this?
Well the worst case scenario involves full meltdowns and a lot of stuff that is nearly impossible so I guess the statement of Chernobyl times 3 isn't entirely impossible in the absolute worst case scenario.
The chances of that happening though... lol
Chernobyl can't possibly happen, as far as I'm aware, because in Chernobyl the method they used to cool off the reactors was a substance that could explode/catch fire. In Japan they're using water, so that's not possible. Therefore no explosion of such a magnitude and that scenario can't possibly happen.
Ok, I'm honestly believing crazy lady is just a troll:
To an extent, being a troll about some topics shouldn't exempt you from someone coming to your house and beating you sensless, lol.
I think they know what they are talking about, but it's a fine line between releasing information and causing public and international panic. You already see idiots for days trying to dramatize the siutation with obsurd comparaions to Chernobyl, which just shows how little these people understand anything to do with this situation and what happened at Chernobyl. So as if it wasn't dire enough, they have to deal with these "professionals" trying to inflame the entire situation.
Behind the scenes I belive they are doing everything they can to correct the situation, but at this point it is very difficult and there just really isn't much aid anyone else can provide to them.
Watching game. Refreshing this thread as it filters out the crap. Thanks BG!
