yo mother nature needs to chill the fuck out. i like all of my mass casualties terror related
Omg at that boat near the center. ><
The only thing that not being confirm is the dead bodies they found are unsure whether are the victims from those boats or not.
But right now, the whole kesennuma city just in fire, like there is a massive air strike on the city.
I find it hard to believe not a single person in Japan has the HM Whirlpool.
Was following this last night when it happened initially, but fell asleep. Waking up to 100k missing? Holy fuck.
everything just burning

Ugh, and here I thought casualties would be lower thanks to the good anti-earthquake technology Japan has... hoping they aren't too bad and those missing people are found.
Forgive my ignorance on the matter, but...what happens if that ship was to hit the middle of the whirlpool? Does it actually go like cartoons where it will get sucked underneath the water? That thing is massively terrifying to look at. Wonder if they couldn't helicopter the people on it to safety...
Totally unimportant post.
Ever watch the TV show 'The Amazing Race'? Almost every season there is a disaster in one or two of the locations they've traveled to shortly after they leave, or around the time of the broadcast of that episode. They were in Japan on Sunday. Show is cursed.
The casualties will probably be a lot lower than the Haiti earthquake, which was a 7.0 earthquake that killed more than 300k people.
i dont understand the science behind this either, but i know its not like a drain type effect like you see with manmade whirlpools throughout the US. From what i see is that water is entering and leaving all at once from the cracks left under the depths? which spirals the water and forces it to move in a whirling motion. i really dont know 100% im just taking a guess. miz and woozie are the science fiends here. im just a wannabe
what's worse, earthquake landing closer and producing no immediate tsunami, or one off the coast so the quake feels weaker but there is a tsunami? :<
Not sure if repost, but w/e.

it depends on where the quake occur. Like in japan, the 8.9 earth on the land has lesser impact than the result caused by tsunami. Since they have a very well preparation for any earth quake incident. Right now, the tsunami just cause a nuclear plant shut down, a massive burning of a town, and destroy X amount of area, and also the tokyo disney land >.>
At what point does Godzilla pop out
that whirlpool... just speechless. It's like something out of a fantasy world man (missing leviathan)
Just woke up, holy shit.
