Virus issue: browser trying to connect to websites automatically

Hey all, coworker had a virus today that I've mostly cleaned (some dhl_tracker.zip) that installed a fake AV. That's been cleaned, thing is it keeps trying to connect to 2 virus websites automatically (trend micro blocks this however). Any suggestions? Scanned with malware bytes and a full version of trend micro and this still occurs.

Look through your processes and startup (msconfig) and try to find any traces of the virus.

End the process > look through msconfig, uncheck the box in Startup > reboot your machine.

make sure the browser isn't set ot use a proxy server, also make sure the dns servers weren't changed for that computer.

You could also try to use ComboFix, it helped me when I had a similar situation. Definitely check what chiyio suggested as well.
