    Someone please explain to me what the point in that would be. Because I don't get it.

    Well, I suppose it wouldn't be a bad thing to have. Wouldn't exactly be some awesome new groundbreaking thing either though...

    in after "to deal less damage while trying to proc blue so you don't kill the nm before proc"

    I still don't get it. Whether you ws from main or offhand, your tp will be gone and if you didn't proc you need to get tp again. If you're that worried about killing the nm before you proc, tp off another mob?

    I thought it meant use the WS from the off hand, so Shamshir/Twilight Knife means you get Sword+Dagger WS.

    I'm assuming he means that aswell, but I still fail to see the point. If you dual wield Shamshir/Twilight Knife and use RLB to get hint for red proc, and it tells you "wind" - well I don't see the problem in just quickly swapping Twilight Knife to main hand. It might add 1 minute to the fight to do that, get 100% tp and try Cyclone.

    I just don't see the point in giving us the option to ws from offhand, the advantages would be marginal at best.

    Unless there is some nice advantage to it that I'm missing, in which case please enlighten me ; ;

    The only way I'd really see it truly being 'useful' is if since it would do half damage, to also consume half TP. That might make for some interesting situations. Probably be overpowered, but meh w/e.

    While I won't deny some people either abused the system or got lucky early on, to assume people with gray names are the good posters is pretty fucking dumb. Plus those who turn around and whine about their oppression and how hundreds of retards are disagreeing with them may've just happened to irk the wrong person with an army of socks. I think it only takes something like 7-8 rate downs to go from Excellent to Sub-default for a single post. Where you start will determine how much you actually need. If you're Default, it could be 1-4. From there, there's a good chance consecutive posts on the same page will get hit regardless of their content. And if the Alla thread here is any indication, any time someone links a post, unsurprisingly the target of the dumb is stalked and karma camped for a bit to "prove a point" if you could even call it that. And while they frown upon farming rate ups there, farming rate downs should be equally unwanted. Sadly, it's harder to prove with no real requirement to do it like making a post in the thread or at least giving a (good) reason.

    But really, I look at it all like I do the official boards. Don't be a dick and you have nothing to worry about. At least on Alla you don't need to worry about possible suspension or banning from FFXI. Though, now I'm wondering if anyone's actually been banned from the game yet.

    To assume anything based on karma is rather silly. Everyone's karma is based mostly on how you were rated early on. Every post you make rates yourself twice at your base score, which makes it increasingly impossible to change it with each post. Getting from a base score (3.0) to guru when you have 10k posts takes upwards of 10k+ rate ups. Doing it with 1 post takes all of 2 rate ups.

    Of course there are checks in place to prevent instant gurus (to an extent). The main one is that ratings on the first 17 posts do not count. So everyone starts with 17 posts rated 3.00. However ratings on posts made in journals do not count, so it is possible to make 16 posts in a journal, then one post that you know will get rated up, and with 2 rate ups, you will a karma score of 4.5 (guru), and every post after that will be rating yourself at that, making it very easy to keep a high karma.

    It is trivially easy to cheat the system if you know how when you first sign up. Obviously not too many people know that when they first sign up, but still, it is more a measure of how your first posts were rated than the average quality of someone's posts.

    Eeks, I hate you for making me look at that thread again. I just had to reply. What's worse is that stupid makes me give long-winded speeches for some odd reason. ~_~;

    Also, why is it that in all the job forums, people full capitalize Atmas? I keep seeing thread saying "What ATMAS to use." And I don't think it's for emphasis. ._.;

    Oh I didn't mean that to be totally serious lol It was more to joke about alla being retarded, and that actual useful information that hints at someone being 'wrong' or hurts some e-feelings gets you rated down into oblivion. Which sadly it sometimes does. Just look at what happened to Rog

    Did you see someone replied with an example of how they held Empousa @ 1% for their drk to try triggering blue? I mean.. come on, if you haven't triggered blue by 1% then just forget about it and kill the mob - and besides, GS and scythe are 2h weapons.

    In fact, I'd go as far as to say that guy's whole post is uh, yeah. You judge for yourselves:

    Getting TP with offhand often sucks due to low skill rating, and quite possibly being underskilled even for the already low cap. Club is a nice example. So dual wielding a dagger and club would help TP gain a lot, making it easier to proc. (I don't understand this part at all)

    And changing weapons is just tedious (dear lord people are amazingly lazy) if you need different kinds of WS all the time, especially if you only decide to AoE mid fight, and you do it frequently. Sometimes it's just nice to be prepared for either situation. What about Skillchain properties, trying to open a level 3 skillchain with one hand, close it with the other (wat). Every bit of TP counts, you can't just switch weapons to make it work.

    Not saying it's a grave issue or anything, just saying I could see uses for it. In fact, I don't see why it shouldn't be possible at all, offhand has no other penalties, so apparently FFXI characters aren't just right-handed. So why not allow it, even at full strength?

    People think putting "Inb4" in front of an argument makes it less valid. I remember a few cases just off the top of my head where this would have been useful. Just last week we held Empousa at 1% for our DRK, 2 WSs, we chose the wrong one, mob dead. It happens, not even that rarely (if this really is an issue you are doing it wrong!).
    Bolded stuff in () was added by me, incase anyone got confused.

    WTF is he going on about, "Getting TP with offhand often sucks due to low skill rating?" And yeah, that post is just someone basically complaining that they suck. I proc on WAR and carry all of the weapons I need, and I switch between them immediately after WS to make sure I lose a single attack round, at most.

    Granted, almost every weapon I carry is a multi-hit weapon, but still. It isn't that hard to not fucking suck, right?

    Whiner needs to shut the fuck up and skill up, there's zero reason for him not to have blue ratings in everything.

    Oh damn. Looking at your signature it suddenly makes perfect sense that the post I quoted doesn't make any sense.

    I honestly think the guy is just an elaborate troll. He's too intelligent in some directions to honestly believe his own horseshit, I'd hope. That said, reading the name in your post made sense of why it would be such a retarded post to begin with.

    No advantage except in cases where you already have TP. It's just laziness on the person's behalf otherwise.
