Lol he just starts thread after thread like anyone really cares. Oh and he posts them in all caps with shit like ATTN DEV TEAM, instead of actually reading and knowing how to use the dev tag. After my last post , i am probably going to get another ban lol. But my god the sheer dumb that exists there is freaking amazing, considering there is a sticky just above these posts that says to use dev tags if you have a serious recommendation. But then again what do you expect from people that are too lazy to look up their jobs and how to play them to max potential..... and now just use the official forums to whine how SE should make everything even easier because they suck.

That's actually not how you use the dev tags. You use the dev tags when making a topic for suggestions/comments on something the devs have posted, that way they can see it and read the feedback on that particular adjustment/addition quicker. The mis-use of dev tags has been a huge pet-peeve of mine since that sticky post was made.

Shyeah they would. I've trolled that thread so long that I'm not even sure relics really deserve a big update anymore.

I mean, where's the hole in this logic?:
1) Lets say you're someone in 2005 with perfect TP gear. You have your Panther Mask +1. You have Dusk +1 hands and feet. You have Speed belt. You have a Behemoth Mantle +1. You have a Peacock Charm to go with your O-hat. Heck, you have a K-club. You have a Igqira Weskit for your black mage too, just because you're a baller.
2) You can either keep your awesome TP gear or sell it and buy a relic.

Case A) You sell it and get a relic - It's 2011, and you have the second best weapon for your weapon class after having the best weapon for half a decade.
Case B) You don't sell it. - It's 2011, and you've watched your shinies get less and less valuable for half a decade. There are some whose value totally evaporated overnight like Panther Mask and Weskit. Now your relic worth of gil is worth 50mil if you're lucky.

Is the second best weapon for your weapon class worth 50mil? Would having the best weapon for 5 years be worth 50mil?

Apart from dumping your gear and just holding gil for the last 5 years, I can't really think of anything you could have invested in that has retained its value particularly well.

Just as well, consider Armadaberk, Heca cap+1, all other pieces that have been outclassed.

Anyways i think with the new dyna updates and the WotG story finished, they may add some juice to relics. Almost nothing from 2005 is worth anything anymore. Relics have definitely retained their value the best out of everything, but I agree that there was (on some level) an implied agreement between SE and the playerbase that they would always be a top tier weapon. If Perdu weapons, for instance, had been better than relics, there would have been blood flowing in the streets of Aht Urghan.

O ya Byrthnoth had good points. I wasn't disagreeing there by any means. And i do hope they buff the hell out of relics in future updates, I watched friends go through years of hell to get them. Never bothered to get one myself since I am mostly caster main jobs, although if the updates are good enough i have excal paper already and would probably do the brd intsrument also. Like a retard i sold all my currency when i quit because i didn't think i would be coming back lol

Add in moogle slips. Not the individual ones. The actual facts and figures as to how close you are to completely maxing out storable gear in each slip.

Well I'm fairly sure despite all of the threads used to freak Rambus and TearValerin out that most people expect relics to be the number one (or at least comparable to whatever else is introduced) at 99. Barring, of course, some combination of the weapons. It's a bit unfair to classify relics as a weapon of old age that deserve to die out, when you can easily tack on a difficult trial to justify their enhancement.

Frankly, I couldn't give a shit if they ever update relics to make them competitive. I have 0 investment down that path. The closest I came was having about 100mil towards a relic before 1/22. Still, I don't like hearing the relic owners calling for an Empyrean nerf, and I don't think we have to be very creative to avoid it.

My update post is more about responsible ways they could change them to make them useful without upsetting game balance. I hid it in a reject forum, which will make sure it stays towards the top for a while and potentially a Dev will stumble across it.

About a final "difficult" trial for relics, I'm kind of expecting that... and I'm expecting it to involve more currency. I wonder if they're more angry now than they will be then.

I agree with you that their calls for nerfing empyreans are out of line. Those two almost make it hard to not want to hate on them and relics, but if old gear is getting synergy upgrades, and trials as the devs have stated then relics at least deserve something similar.

I don't see a further trial involving currency to be justification for them being made top tier, but should that be the path the weapons should all be relatively comparable, at least. By comparison, it is also annoying that mythic owners have sat quietly despite their shorter stick.

I remember reading a thread where the OP was demanding thta Aurore gear get Auto reraise. Couldn't tell if they were serious or trolling. The amount of troll threads is just getting to be too much.

Definitely trolling. His logic was that, as so many people in Abyssea fulltime 5/5 Aurore, putting Auto-RR on it would allow them to zombie all of their AF3+2 and get out of Aurore faster.
