I suggest there be a version 2.0 of the chocobo neck item in game. This version will basically allow you to call a regular chocobo instead of going through a NPC and renting. This item should be obtained through a really time consuming and hard quest or cost a pretty gil. Essentially it will be a "lifetime chocobo pass" of sorts. 1/1 charge, 10 minute timer. Also you can use this at level 1 as a side bonus for completing the quest(forget about it if bought)

Possible quest - Raise 100 chocobos to adulthood.

Possible purchase price: 1 million gil.

Sounds reasonable.

I tried to ignore that entire thread... honestly there's just so much "I want this now, because it's too much of a pain to do it your way" in the entire forum. I can see fixes on the inefficient systems and such, but with chocobo renting? You've ALWAYS had to rent chocobos or earn them in some way (The latter coming to mind in FFIX, where you get one to call at any time, and FFVIII where you can get them at the forests for free after a puzzle), so in the end all they're looking for is some stupid mount so they can get around faster whenever they want.

Ugh. The "I wants" are starting to grate.
