just hope the power goes back to normal and the servers come back up soon. I kinda wanted to come back to FFXI this month since i finally had some time to play again.
getting jobs back to cap.. and looking forward to the next VU and all

Thow idk Japanse Power grid nore how they opperate there redundant powerplants, but if its like most countrys where the basics are kept maintain at all times i'd say depending how fast they move to put them up into oppperation gualty it take them to end of the month 2 get it up & running, And personily i wouldnt mind beening charged for april, aslong as it went to AID for the japanse people,
Edit: Also under the cirumstanices other countrys would export coal to them as priorty over other countrys.

I knew this was coming and I was surprised that they were up when all of this hit. A Break might make a few people explode but for me it's a good chance to work on other things.

Instead of not billing us for April I wish they would just donated all of April to quake relief but I suppose you can't expect that. And plenty of "Pearl Harbour"-tards would throw a massive hissy fit if they did.

When I read about Konami shutting down MGO servers I kinda expected this to happen. I honestly would've paid for April regardless.. it's only understandable shutting down extras if your population is in need of energy to live.

Rolling blackouts are scheduled for most of the Kanto and Tohoku regions, sans the 23 districts of Tokyo, starting tomorrow JST time. How long these will continue I am not sure, I have heard possibly through April.

Yep the pitchforks are out on the official forums... some trying to stabbity stab SE, some trying to stabbity stab the idiots thankfully.

Question is - if 14 in particular's offline for an extended period... how many people will actually return? Think there's a very real possibility it could kill off that game pretty effectively, 11 will probably survive it better.

I dont think that is the problem, as much as we would all like to believe every human would help his own kind, some people will not donate. If they were to do that, then they would have to give people a choice if they want to donate it to whatever cause. I am not sure if it is illegal to FORCE someone donate.

I wonder if this happened in America if a company would voluntarily shut down services and refund an entire months worth of income just because of 'social responsibility'. Growing up here it is really surprising to me that a corporation would do this without being forced to. It was mentioned before, but if the servers are in fact down for an extended time there will be a whole host of people that won't return just from finding new habits. That's an awfully big gesture to make if its not mandated from on high.

Also, the fact that they are giving a months worth of playtime away leads me to believe we are looking at over a week of downtime.
