It must have been literally ~60 seconds or something ridiculous, I'm usually p. on top of things and I read Sera's post about turkey basters, went to a diff thread, saw Ivve posted, tried to come back and was denied

its a white knight brigade of preferential treatment, i'm fairly certain physical harm and addresses were posted in several other threads, and only the offending posts get removed. i mean it sucks, and i don't disagree that ivve has a right to request it to be removed or whatever, but the fact that it actually was completely shelved is entirely based on the fact that she's ivve and not joe blow. there weren't even any personal attacks, or long paragraphs describing transients impregnating stuck up bitches and said babies clawing their way out of the womb and financially draining the stuck up bitch for the rest of her life.

I agree. But the reason being is now the issue which shall not be named has become a law enforcement matter. They'll probably be coming after certain posts in that thread. Shit gets pulled quick when lawyers or police rear their head. This is not the first time it's happened.

I'm continually surprised by any of these things being remotely true, in that anytime someone claims they got somethin' there's actually a kernel of truth in it or a whole lot more, and while I feel like the overall lesson to be learned here is to stop getting naked on the internet even if no one actually did, I feel it would be counter-productive to just come out and say that shit

I have an extremely good feeling no lawyers or police have contacted the forums yet. It took something like six hours or a day (idk I was, truthfully, out of town) when the FFXI GM Manual was posted for the lawyers to come a-callin'. In a thread like that, we all knew law enforcement & lawyers would be coming, but did we nuke it? No. It wasn't nuked until ringringring take this shit down or get sued.

VI. Post Removal/Editing
If you post a thread, but aren't happy with the results of the thread because something didn't go your way, too bad. Editing it to remove your content is a bannable offense. You posted it for us to read, now we're going to read it.

Granted she asked for it to be removed, instead of trying to scorch earth, it's a thing.

This would not have happened for joe blow, probably. Punishment/Actions are never uniform, and as such, there will always cause controversy.

The action taken here is almost entirely because it is Ivve who was target. This is similar to the Elphaba thread, where the action was taken specifically because of who the target was. I am quite certain we could have made someone else piss their pants and cry about it over the internet and have nothing happen, but certain people seem exempt. These exemptions are bound to cause controversy and confusion, and they will never stop doing so.

Again though, I doubt Ivve gives 1 fuck about what any of us think about the matter. That's the reason I respect her, and the main difference between her and Elphaba. That, and, Qalbert is actually showing us he is a good mod, and the rest who posted in this thread are bad mods.

And again, I want to mention, the only way Ivve was relevant at the end of that thread was she kept saying she was gonna make a big post about the whole thing (which was apparently a proposal for immediate removal).
