and what I mean is this exactly what the fuck I was saying, we have this thread, we knew what the previous thread had been, so why did we need both this thread plus the previous one restored with edits? I'm not saying that the original nuking shouldn't be a point of contention, but there were multiple people saying that it should just be clipped and restored, but to what end?

I am not sure what we're arguing. The thread should never have been removed. The initial action should have been clipping. With that in case, should you feel so strongly about removing the offending posts and protecting posters, the five minutes of your time would be entirely productive and produce a lot less bitching. However, the route that was taken, shows that certain posters literally have mods in their back pocket (or mods are really retarded, both could apply), which is going to cause people to be pissy pants.

You said the trim wasn't worth the effort, and it isn't worth it post-nuke. Not certain if I said that or misled you to that point; my main point has been the nuke itself is ludicrous. There are about 2-3 offshoot threads (depending if you count the NFL one) that spread from the nuke, and it's not like Spam is in danger of having TOO MANY THREADS, it's just like, why did the nuke have to happen? Now shit's all wonky. I can't tell if you're trying to be dumb on purpose for laughs, or if you've misunderstood me the entire time.
