Vacation time! Corpus Cristi/S. Padre Island Suggestions?

Damn, so Miz hates me -__- Lame !

As far as stuff to do, the Aquarium is nice as hell. Me and wife go there about once a year because it's a beautiful place. Actually, plan on taking my son there this summer for the weekend. And I also vote for Snoopy's... place is off the chain !

Yessir. That is probably the ONLY place I will miss once we leave. Oh and I will miss the abundance of Black Drum that run through the jettys this time of year. I wont miss HEB and their $9.00 lb Catfish or 11.00 per lb Salmon, fuck that store in fucking A.

The beaches in Corpus Christi are nasty. I was down there two years ago for work and checked out a beach on S. Padre Island, and there was so much garbage washed up on the shore line.

I have been living in Texas for almost 4 years now, and yes its horrible here. I need to find a job somewhere else and get out while I still can.

Decided in 100% in on South Padre island and been scratching around hotels but god fucking damn the customer service sucks ass. All i want is a ocean view room with a jacuzzi and I can't get a straight answer or a room. One place qouted me $60 a night for a standard room. I simply said "Im willing to pay double if you can get me a room with what I want" They said nope and hung up.... Another place hung up on me after saying "just call back later, i can't help you. we are changing shifts" I gave up on a hilton request when i couldnt understand a fucking thing they said. It sounded like an outsourced call center to book reservations and when I said South Padre island and what i wanted, they responded with a hotel in Dallas...

I guess Spring Break really stresses these people out

Welcome to Texas, where even the assholes are bigger. This is pretty much par for the course. You will think im trolling, but call them and ask for it in Spanish, they will move mountains to get you in. The loathing for whites and blacks here is unbe-fucking-leavable.

oh i know. i used to live there as a kid, in fort worth. thats where i got my slight southern draw. the only reason i want to go back is to show off my soon to be wife to my mom and the beach is 4 hrs away. otherwise id be vacationing in Vegas, Long beach, New Orleans, or even, hell, the humid state of Florida. Just trying to make the best out of the trip

everyone ive ever talked to who comes back loves the place as a vacation spot. they feel its the one of few spots in the US that have any sense of real culture.

No idea why you want to vacation around CC honestly as others said the beaches are nasty. If I was a tourist visiting Texas I would either go to Dallas or Austin. If you're on the cheap Oklahoma City has improved a little over the past few years as well, there's enough stuff to do there for a weekend.

Austin is about the only decent place to VISIT and GTFO if you are here real quick. Been to Dallas, meh. Houston is full of traffic, screw and chop music and fat bitches and everything else in the state blows rabid pee hole. SA was cool, but only because Dimmy and BoS were there. Austin is decent to visit if boozing and being in a college town is your thing, if not, fuck it.

You're a cold, heartless bastard Tekki. I love turtles too. I have a 9 year old Alligator snapping turtle that I caught in my parents back yard as a hatchling and I have a 7 year old Soft shelled turtle that I've had since it hatched as well. I grew up on with my parents with a acre and a half pond, so all things turtle, snakes and frogs I have on lock.
