Revisiting Legend of Dragoon

Replayed it not to long ago on ps2 the game would always freeze on the final boss fight in disk 2, bought like 3 copies of the game even a "new" used ps2 and still didn't fix the problem. What caused it was going into dragoon mode in that boss fight >.>;

Dunno if it's the same problem, but I had a similar problem with the screen freezing before the cut-scene after the boss at the end of disk 1. Turns out that it glitches if you turn into a dragoon during the fight (It it may have been if you used the special 3 transformation, I forget exactly which one it is now). It could be that? I was replaying it once I figured that out, but I missed a stardust that I couldn't go back and get, and I hate not 100%'ing these games now so I just got frustrated and quit. I will probably replay it again soon. I hate following a guide, but I think I may this time just so I don't keep missing stardust. Shit is really frustrating! lol

Yeah, see you understand more than most. Our people don't get down with that shit at all. Its was either Madden, NBA Live, Street Fighter (even that was suspect) or the Bull vs Lakers games on genesis from back in the day. The hood didn't play that RPG bullshit. Its funny because I was an athlete, but a nerd at the same time, so I crossed over well. I used to read my Beyond the Beyond and and Saga Frontier strategy guides on the infield waiting for my track events to start, luckily the white boys that ran the mile and all that distance shit were slow, so I had time to get mine.

I'd get things like "Yeah, Ayn plays that final fantasy shit" or "Yeah, he plays those games that you have to read and be smart and shit for".

And people wonder why I got the fuck out of there.

Would have to say this Legend of Legaia (Torrrrnaaado flllaaammeee) Suikoden II FF8 Xenogears are my top 5 rpg's of all time i remember stealing my cousin's turbo controller to max out throw items and getting stuck on divine dragon when i first fought it. Have to say tho i put most of my nigga's on rpg's would anybody happen to remember monster rancher 2? XD

Dart, Rose, Albert. Gust of Wind Dance gave me the vidya reflexes of a god.

Hell yeah. When you can break counterattacks and still finish gust of wind dance and Blossom Storm you could do anything.

I always used Dart, Rose, Lavitz/Albert. I also didn't allow myself to use the next addition until I level 5'd the previous one. On the second playthrough I was using Blossom Storm with Lavitz because I wanted to see how he did it. It was completely different.

Oh, and on the third playthrough I got everyones final addition to level 5. :3 If I had to pick a fourth character I'd probably go with Haschel. Meru and Kongol were never really my type.

The final battle gave me a lot of trouble the first time I tried to beat the game because I only had 1-3 revives left. I eventually decided to load from my save file 2-4 hours of gameplay before and stock up on items and replay my way back. With that, and the knoweldge that I should only dragoon mode on the last form with less than 200 SP, I finally beat the game.

Dart, Albert, Meru.

I actually started playing it (And Parasite Eve) a few months ago on my PC with a PS1 emulator but decided to not continue until I bought a controller for my PC because as much as I'm ok with playing SNES games with a keyboard, it's kind of a hassle to play games that used joysticks with just the keyboards D-pad. Same reason I had to stop playing Majoras Mask on my n64 emulator.

I'm pretty sure this game is the reason why I chose to play DRG in XI also, would definitely love a remake or prequel of the game.

One of the first things I remember when thinking back on this game is the commercial. Dart and Lloyd are fighting at the end. Dart cuts Lloyd's head off, Lloyd's like did you see that Nigle he cut my head off, Dart kicks it back over saying what a wuss.

Loved the game, but my biggest gripe ever was having to choose a combo before battle. Simple drop menu, all that was needed. Oh and Dart, old guy, psycho hammer perky person thing

I just noticed the game was on JP PSN, added December 22nd. Hopefully that is a sign that it will be on NA PSN this year too.

It's why I always advocate for old niggas in video games. They usually are pretty beast.

Frugal was the baddest motherfucker in that game. He was the fatass in the prison early on. Also hated how, I think it was Albert, said dance. Gust of wind *super nerdy high pitched voice* DANCE! Rose was definitely a whore. Hoo! Ha! Whip Smack! I never got to finish it. I borrowed it from a friend and got further than him so he got pissed and wouldn't let me play it.

I was recently asked what kind of games I play at work. Explaining what RPGs were to people twice my age and no gaming knowledge past Pac-Man earned me "that look"; the look that says "my god you're sad."

That's cause you put it in the wrong perspective for them. Say RPGS are more cost efficient in terms of time put in the game to dollar spent and they'll love you.

i take my psp into work the guys i work with are 55 and 66 and they have no real idea about games so when i play it on my breaks there like "your just wasting your life away!" *goes back to reading the paper*

Back on topic: Hope this comes to PSN soon. Been getting the itch from folks who post on this particular board (Xenogears thread, Parasite Eve, Vagrant Story, etc.) Getting this game will complete my old school PSP collection so I won't have to keep shelling out $50 for a semi-new copy on Amazon or E-Bay of my favorite old school games.
