    New PC

Ahoy! I am thinking of upgrading my PC and have seen two that are reviewed very well. I'm looking for people that might be more computer savvy than myself to take a quick look at these and tell me their thoughts.

    Merci in advance.

Listen trust fund baby, just because you have a lot of money doesn't mean you should go creating topics flaunting it. It's like Wop Jr. over here.

Really though, buying prefab PC's usually aren't the best thing to do. If you've got a computer shop nearby, buy all the parts and bring them there to assemble it, or have a PC savvy friend do it for you. I built mine, it's really not difficult. Some people are uncomoftable doing things such as CPU/Mobo themselves. Buying all the part separately, you'll save a bunch of money. But with as much money as you have it shouldn't be an issue! Now that I've built my first PC, I'll never buy a prefab one again.

Actually it looks like this company is a custom builder like iBuyPower. They just put the machine together for you.

And of these two I'd definitely go with the Phoenix Hydro X - that's one sweet machine they have there. I'm guessing 1500 GBP is a low price for a high-end custom PC?

Isn't that the equivalent of like 2,400 USD? That's insane. You can put together a great machine for far less and have it just as efficient.

What odesseiron said. Honestly if you cant put together 2,000 computer, you probably don't need that much pc power. Lord help you if something breaks/malfunctions/shortens out.

Do these custom pre-builts not come warrantied? Also a lot of times people don't take included software into account, a lot of prebuilts can come with like $600+ worth of software, yes you can find cracked copies but some people prefer having legit stuff.

£1,249 (£1,499 inc VAT) equates to $1767.96 ($2121.83 inc VAT) pretty ridiculous, but I have no room to talk, I'd like top of the line parts for my PC but that would cost me close to 5k maybe more. I think the OP should build a PC that will conform to whatever workload the PC will undertake. Chances are, in 18 months the parts will be outdated and faster, cheaper parts will be available.

It is worth noting that buying PC (or parts) costs more in the UK than the USA. It wouldn't be that much cheaper to buy and build himself. I ain't too sure about that PSU in the second one, I'd be looking for better brand myself for top of the line type stuff like this. Personally I'd build my own, but I see nothing wrong with him buying that.

Costing up the parts I was over budget before I even added the case or PSU

Yes, you can build the machine yourself and overclock it yourself and not pay as much money. That's always gonna be the case. But yes, you probably do get a warranty with the machine that covers labor, plus whatever individual warranties the parts have. Lemme check something out & get back to ya..

Cost of individual parts in this system in GBP (@ Overclockers.co.uk or Ebuyer.com, prices include VAT):

CPU: Core i7-2600K with builder overclock - 257.99
    Cooling: Corsair H70 - 79.99
    Mobo: ASUS P8P67 Pro - 149.99
    Memory: Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600 - 89.99
Graphics: Dual MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II cards in XFire, with mfr. overclock - 239.99 x2
    OS Drive: Kingston SSDNow V+ 64GB - 94.47
Storage Drive: Samsung F3 SATAII 1.5TB - Not found, avg price $70 USD
    Optical Drive: Lite-on Bluray Drive w/ DVD/CD-R/RW - 79.99
PSU: Thermaltake EVO-Blue 750W - Not found, avg price $139.99 USD
    Case: CM HAF X - 132.98
    OS : Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - 79.99
